Buy A Sledge In Summer ...
Time passes so quickly that I have started counting it by events rather than hours and days. When I was going to work, I used to refer to the days(once a month) when I got my paycheck. Now, I count by the days I get my pension; this is the macro version.
I think of many events in the micro, i.e., weekly version, and now I remember Wednesday's walk. It seems like yesterday was Wednesday, and I can't believe that tonight, the next Wednesday, is already over.
Spring is here, and I realize I haven't recounted all the winter walks, so I'll try to fix that with another walk in the park, through what I think was the last snow of this year.
It was a long wait for the snow to settle over the city. The children were the most impatient and the season's biggest lovers, especially for sledding.
I saw many sleds on this walk. The winter that came, when no one expected it, emptied the shops of sleds, and I couldn't find one to buy for my granddaughter. I learned my lesson, and this year, I will do as a well-known Romanian saying teaches us: Buy a sledge in summer and a cart in winter!
I also saw people, especially children, happy to have a sledge.
I didn't have a sledge but a camera, so I tried to take as many pictures as I could of people walking, like me, in a park in winter.
The small lake is frozen, but luckily, it has already started to thaw near the shore, so the wild ducks have something to eat.
Again, a very small child is most interested in what is happening.
Winter scenery is rarely seen in a big city, and parks are the best places to enjoy.
I thought that park benches were bypassed by those who came to relax in the park because they were cold, but two teenagers in love want to contradict me.
I could say it's a wilderness landscape if I didn't see the blocks in the background.
It wasn't exactly a wilderness landscape, but it was enough for me to see and remember the winters of yesteryear, spent right at my grandparents' house a long time ago!
I always start with photos when I want to write a blog. Photos remind me of places, events, and feelings that turn into words.
Since we all love photography, let’s explore the captivating details captured in these photos!
A wise saying goes that an image is worth a thousand words.
I don't think so. It depends on the viewer.
Make a point of looking around and up to see what you can find to get shots of that; otherwise, you may miss it.
This is one of the recommendations made by @tattoodjay for those who prefer walking and are used to sharing impressions and photos in his community, Wednesday Walk, every Wednesday, like this one today.
Thank you!
Recently, I have had the same feeling. We are almost in the middle of March. How fast months pass by, and the weather has become hot like in June today. Perhaps, it is bcoz of this I feel so :)
Time flies!
I do relate to the change in how we track shall I say cycles from working to retired
sure were so many sleds out that day
Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk and have a good day
With great pleasure, I say a good day to you too!
Haha, didn't know about that saying but it makes sense, so yes - buy a sledge in summer and fingers crossed that next winter it will snow again :))
Anyway, the walk with the camera in your hand was also pleasant I think, at least I see it as beautiful. 😇
I will definitely buy a sled soon, especially since my wife told me to do that last year. You can imagine what I went through when it snowed this winter.
It's quite a small place, but I love it, both for walking and for photography. Thank you so much!
Oops 😅
If you have been scolded... 😅 maybe a cup of coffee in your favourite coffee shop could be the solution to make everyone forget about this situation. After all, it's the fault of the others who bought all the sledges from the stores!! 😁
It's my fault, and I know you understand. I'm used to putting off things that I think can be put off, and I'm often wrong.
Yes, I understood of course, and that's why I wanted to present it from the other side ;) Some situations with a bit of humour are easier to cope with - even with the lack of sledges or putting off things (I do the same, all the time!!)
I know you do the same, that's why I told you.
I'm not a big fan of snow and cold, but I do remember how excited I was as a child when there was enough snow to get out that old sled from the attic!
Another great reminder was the day when my son was the same age, so I could go out and re-live those happy moments! So, it's not all about the pain of getting to the job on icy roads as there is a lot of satisfaction and joy in spending quality time with children in snow!

I had the same feelings as you, and the same happened with my son, who still caught the real winters of yesteryear.

It has brought back fond memories of your grandparents and also enjoy the children who always do curious things... I love the benches!
Me too. Thanks!
We have a great life lesson here... learn to be cautious so you don't have to be sorry. But I honestly don't know how sleds can run out in the middle of the season.
Nice pics!
It's the end of the season. There have been mild winters in the last few years, and perhaps the merchants stocked up with fewer sleds. In this year's unique situation, with the snowfall, everyone wanted to buy, and the sleds were sold out in one day.
Thank you!
🤔 And add to that the fact that the interest in enjoying the outdoors is decreasing every day... Internet and electronic devices have plenty of sledges.
You are welcome. 😉
Yes, virtual sleds...
