A walk for a coffee or a coffee for a walk?
This question remains a dilemma for me. A walk for a coffee or a coffee for a walk? It looks the same, but it's not. What does that mean?
It means I take a walk downtown every weekend. A walk that ends with coffee! It could have many other things, but it's always coffee.
As is the famous dilemma...
Which came first, the hen or the egg?
It's the same for me.
Which came first, the walk or the coffee?
The answer is easier here than with the hen and egg question. In this combination, walk and coffee, the walk came first, but then the coffee became more important.
Coffee is addictive!
The walk, less so.
Sunday morning walk
Walk in the old city center of Bucharest, Romania. The route is the same every time, I like the beaten paths. The old center is like an island in the city center, an island of other times, the buildings and even the atmosphere seem from another century, the beginning of the twentieth century.
At some point, the steps lead to the place with the reward, i.e. the cappuccino.
Spring is coming to town. These olive trees, which in the winter have been wrapped in protective sheets, are seeing the sun again.
Coffee and flowers
I choose, as always, coffee!
The Coffee Shop
The cafe is small. It has a few seats at the tables for loyal customers. The others prefer coffee on the road, and coffee on the run.
My wife and I are loyal customers. We've been coming here for a few years now and yet, I get a thrill when I walk in. On this recent visit, I had a big surprise when I walked in and saw one of the baristas climbing up a ladder. Hard to describe but easier to understand when you see it.
There's a saying about who gets up in the morning... It's true, it's good to be early. We were the first customers.
It was unusual to see the barista so "high" up! I think that often something special or unusual happens in this place, when we drink coffee, we don't always notice or remember, but this time we managed to save the image.
We also found out why Dan was now so high. He was in charge of tending to the plants that grew among the coffee packets.
If I think about it, another unusual aspect was that the wife paid.
It was a day of surprises. Michael, our favorite barista, made cappuccinos for us. That happens pretty rarely. He's the boss!
This is the result of his work. Even now when I look at the photo I feel my taste buds suddenly become agitated...
It's time to show off our favorite place. Our table. The window table.
I like so much to look at the street while drinking my coffee. we stay there for almost an hour. We tell stories, make plans, and let ourselves be drawn in by the happenings on the street.
This is the street I came on. On the left is the imposing building of the National Bank of Romania. On the right is one of the most beautiful hotels in Bucharest, The Marmoroush Hotel.
I try to locate and give some pointers. Maybe, someday, one of you will arrive here, in the center of Bucharest, and want a good coffee.
Our table and the closest view. On the small street from the cafe there is a taxi stand and their exclusive parking lot.
In Bucharest, it is hard to find a parking space. I gave up driving downtown a long time ago. Those who pass through the area often find free parking in front of the cafe and leave their car there, without noticing that the place is reserved for taxis.
These drivers easily fall prey to police officers.
We often watch, helplessly, as fines are written. I love the reflections in the photos. This time our faces seem to be projected on the windows of the vis a vis.
Only this cat takes a stand, upset that she was disturbed by her nice nap under the car. The cat with only two legs...haha!
On departure, we followed the classic route through University Square. This is also a landmark, a place known to everyone. You have to ask.
As I mentioned at the beginning spring is taking its first steps, here is proof. A magnolia that starts to bloom, beyond the fence of the National Bank.
I don't know how to write fiction... but I like to write. That's why I write about myself and my life. I'm ashamed to write about myself, but I'm the only character I know. The eternal question is why anyone would be interested in what I do and what happens to me in this life. I don't know how to answer this question, and I try to introduce in each of my stories things that can be interesting for someone who reads: travel, art, music, hobbies, life. Since I don't know how to write well, I use a lot of photos. All made by me.
I would also prefer drinking coffee at the end of my walk :)
It is a pleasant relaxation after a long walk.
Thank you, @ewkaw and @qurator for your continued support.
Very nice scenery that can be seen from the cafeteria and the atmosphere is very cozy. By the way, I see those trees and I wonder how they don't die in winter and in spring they can show their best dress. Sorry in my country we don't have those seasons 🙈 Greetings @bluemoon
In Romania, there are 4 seasons, but in recent years winters are getting shorter and warmer. There are many Mediterranean trees in the city. Some have adapted and resist the cold of winter and others we have to protect them, to cover them with something to keep them from freezing.
Coffee after a walk accompanied by your wife, it's great that it ends in a coffee, it's super nice and relaxing
That's exactly how I feel after coffee. Relaxed and feel that life is beautiful. Thank you!
That easy, life is beautiful and wonderful, greetings
It's great coffee and especially to top off a walk through those beautiful streets!😃
That's what makes my Sundays very enjoyable. Thank you!
That's the best thing of all! Have a lovely day!
Your story made me smile— full of passion, personality, culture, art, photography, a cat, a traffic warden haha, and coffee!
Awesome 👏
I got goosebumps reading this 🙌🤗
That's why I love art critics in general. Not that it's about the art in what I wrote, just as a comparison...
Critics always uncover many more aspects of a work than the author intended. It's often not good... This time, more than I had hoped.
Thank you so much for your superb review. You have no idea how much it means to me.
You're very welcome.🤗🙌
Have a fantastic day further.☕️
You too. Thank you!
🤗
Well, if it were my case I wouldn't know if the coffee would come before the walk because the view of the city is very nice, and the walk seems very pleasant. I would love to go one day, I hope I can make it and not get lost hehe.
The cafe looks great!
This place looks very cozy (and the coffee seems to be so tasty).
The coffee is tasty and the baristas are our friends.
Thank you!
Cool! The experience gets even better and much funnier.

What a joy it was to read this post and finish feeling as if I'd spent the afternoon in another city! You have a wonderful way of highlighting the vibes you felt with your photos.
Your footer text intrigued me... you seem to have a very creative mindset, why do you feel that you don't know how to write fiction? With the emotions you saw in the cat, or your connection to people watching, I'd think you'd get on with fiction too! 😄
It was cool to see the ceiling height barista tending to the plants, hear about how you got to have a latte from the top dog, and to see your window view! Thanks for the fun read!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you noticed a few things that I try to include in my posts. I rely a lot on photos, which I work on, choose from many, and edit them. I also try, when possible, to bring in a little humor. You make me think I've succeeded this time.
Thanks for the encouragement too. Maybe, someday, I'll try some fiction.
Thank you! I'm sorry I haven't written here in a long time. I love coffee and am a loyal customer of only one cafe. That's why my posts might be considered too similar. I will try to write more often, at least once a week if I find new things to write about.
I'm reading you right now and I say your writing inspires me, your photos told me all I needed to know about Bucharest.
Thank you for sharing these amazing photos.
I thank you for finding something useful in this post.
You are welcome 😊
As a coffee planter there is nothing more I love to read than a coffee customers post. The thoughts and the way your mind works to just get a cup of addiction is an incredible sight to see. Hoping to see more such posts for you. Keep up the good work. 👏✨
Oh, a coffee planter! All my respect. Without your work and care, we would not have had anything to rejoice our souls with...
Thank you!
I love coffee so much and I get so excited when I travel and go for it and to find a place as beautiful as this makes me even more happy.
Coffee can make life more beautiful, at least for a few moments...
Yeah brother.
A walk for a coffee is amazing, but a coffee for a walk is even more exciting! It always works better for me, lol!
For me it's the same, in fact, that's my choice too. I understand you very well. I had some good coffee in Sibiu.
Happy to hear!
What a nice place to have that delicious coffee, I saw the photo and it provoked me, good that you enjoyed that incredible moment, Greetings.
