Good evening all.

A couple of years prior when we were still living up in the mountains, my husband and I thought of heading off to some place where we could draw in with nature away from the city swarm. We glanced around and arrived to Tam-Awan Village.

Situated in Pinsao Proper in Baguio City, Tam-awan is an intuitive lodging village located on a slope shrouded in a dense mountains full of greens. This is a an incredible spot for nature sweethearts like me who prefers to wander around the countryside. There are a lot of things you can find as you enter the village. Although I only have photos of the mountains, trees and my husband in the background, let me tell you a bit of the place.

In the early nineties (I was still very young), the Chanum Foundation began building Ifugao houses in the heart of Baguio trying to mirror an Igorot town which gives openness to tourists who haven't been to the provinces of Cordillera like Baguio City in Benguet. These recent times, there are currently seven Ifugao cabins or nipa huts and two Kalinga houses made using unique materials. Aside from that, they also showcase different types of artworks like paintings and drawings, woodworks etc. There's likewise a store just after the entrance where you can find products made by locals like clothing, woodwork, and blings/jewelries. There is also a specialty shop where you can buy souvenirs or pasalubong for your family and friends.

Since Baguio is colder than any places in the Philippines, the Tam-Awan Village Cafe is not too far off . This spot is my favorite and is perfect for coffee time. Menu prices are just right. Who doesn't love a cup of coffee watching the clouds roll by in front of your eyes?

They offer reasonable cabins for rent. I think it is around P500 per person as of to date. The village has two view decks wherein you can see the cityscape of Baguio. When we were there, the entire place was covered with fog and clouds like a white cover covering the scene on the opposite side. I loved it like a lot.
