Happy New Week, amazing people!

I've got a few photos here of love locks from our family trip to the haunted Diplomat Hotel, which I posted about in my previous posts. For those who missed my blog, the Diplomat Hotel in Baguio City, Philippines, is a historic and somewhat eerie place. It was originally built as a seminary in the early 20th century, but it was converted into a hotel after World War II, as per history. The hotel is now abandoned and is considered by some to be haunted, which adds to its unique charm, in my opinion.

One thing I noticed when we got to the place was the love locks displayed at the back of the hotel, overlooking the gorgeous landscape of the city. The tradition of attaching love locks to the fences of the Diplomat Hotel seems to have started spontaneously. Couples write their names or initials on a padlock, attach it to the fence, and then throw away the key. This is done as a symbol of their unbreakable love and commitment to each other. The love locks have become a popular attraction at the Diplomat Hotel, adding a touch of romance to the otherwise eerie atmosphere. It's a beautiful sight to see all the locks with the names of couples from all over the world, each with their own unique love story.

My daughter and I took our own photos, and I believe she has more than what I took. It was kind of interesting reading the names on them, and some had messages attached to them too. Isn't it fascinating how a place with such a dark history can also be a symbol of love and commitment? But the exact origin of how the love locks started at the Diplomat Hotel is not clear. It's one of those spontaneous traditions that just seems to have sprung up. Isn't it interesting how traditions can start and spread?

I just thought I'd share with y'all. Thank you for stopping. Have a wonderful day, my friends! Stay lovely!

Interesting, how people go there to leave their locks, have you left your lock too? 🔐 🔒

We did not bring any @georgehive. We just ended up wandering around and taking pictures. Kinda spooky 'cause we were the first ones who entered the hotel that day.

You visit all the house members in the haunted Diplomat Hotel. In the photo it can be seen that the lovers put a lock on a hair and throw away the key of the lock. I got information about such a place for the first time.
