The cafe

The painted van
One humid day on a summer, when we lost power in the house that went on for 12 hours, it's basically impossible that I could get by in the intensity being stuck at home. I'm okay being in the house - I mean I'm introvert and not a huge fan of people-ing, however the humidity and heat are not good companions of mine. So I decided to prepare and get ready and find where we (my daughter and I) could chill a little and have a lunch out.
We made a beeline to Dal-luyon Cafe And Gallery. Sharing this for Wednesday Walk by @tattoodjay. Situated in the heart of the surfing capital of the north, here in my own barangay/county - Urbiztondo, San Juan, La Union, is a boho- inspired lodging house and cafe gallery called Dal-luyon.
(Dalluyon - Ilocano word for waves)
The place is owned by one of the founders of Tam-awan Gallery in Baguio City (I posted an article about it recently). Both Tam-Awan and Dal-luyon have similar refined artsy and hippie laid-back vibe. As you enter the place, you will see a painted van called Scooby Doo at the parking area. My daughter @naniplayergamer had a good time being photographed close to the van. There was one labrador pup playing around the area at that time named Hang Five, and my daughter embraced hugged him right away. The cute little guy is owned by one of the surfers who additionally works at the cafe. There are likewise colossal artworks like mural paintings displayed outside each lodges and I love the "peace" sign they made out of wood vines kinda.
After a few minutes of photoshoot, we headed straight to the cafe which is located on the second deck. We had to walk to a stairs made of tree and the cafe itself looks like a tree house cafe. Very cool. It is decked out with lots of arts by local artists. One thing that caught my attention was the drawings on the capiz (shell) windows where faces were sketched and the head pencil sketches on one of the cafe's wall. It's kind of bizarre to me, but I think it was amazing. Hats of to the artist/s.
About the food, it essentially what I anticipated. The servings are big which I like it a whole lot and the food are delicious. We had fried milkfish, mixed veggies, choco drink for the lil stinker and coffee for yours truly. The staff are amicable as well. I had a little convo with one of the workers who happened to be my mom's friend while my daughter was at that time talking to the chef close to the kitchen while carrying the puppy.
And oh, during holidays or the weekends, they also have bonfires to keep you company. I must say, it was a great "no power" day overall.
Until next. Wishing y'all a fantastic day wherever you may be!

“Arts, arts, arts. Eyes are craving for to learn you more. You are the festive of my soul”
Thank you, @dennnmarc It is because I live in a colorful happy town hehe. Di nga lang napapansin mga pics ko dito lol.

I appreciate the wonderful visit, kapatid. I mean it. Have a great day :)
How jealous I am right now. I want to live in that kind of place too, but in here, it's quiet and boring.

Hey, sis! It's been a long time since I last saw you! Thanks for dropping by!
Yeah I remember you posted an article about Tam-awan in read.cash somewhere! Pretty cool, huh?
How are you, sis? Anything good happening?
Haha been here for a month already, it is can't roamed around before here due to limited RC.
Hehe for far I am enjoying herw at Hive😆.
Oh I remember this. I love this place, mommy and I miss Hang Five. He's a very cute puppy and very friendly. Now, he's so big. We saw him the other day when we went to the beach, right? He was sitting at the entrance of the cafe 😍😍😍
Yes, that Hang Five 😘😘😘
I saw Alice in the Wondeland queens in the galleries. Dal-luyon means a continous flow of something (either convos, actions, or liquids). I thought it's the same but I'm amazed to know it has also a different meaning in a different language.
Hey! What's up, buttercup? Yep, it's pretty much similar, but since we're in a surfing area, it's more of an ocean's waves. How are you, sisteret? Good I hope! Ganda ka pa sa gabi 😊
Ahh, kaya pala. Ganda siguro mag surfing diyan nuh. Okay lang naman, Ate. Nakaka-survive na sa Hive kahit medyo nangangapa pa rin. Ganda ka din po. 🥰
Aw! Thank you, lil sis! Happy Friday!
