Hola! Hoy vengo a compartir este post dedicado específicamente a este lugar para visitar en Buenos Aires, que para mí, es una parada obligada si están por la ciudad.
El Jardín Botánico tiene 5 hectáreas destinadas a la flora argentina y otras 2 con especies de los bosques templados de los cinco continentes. Hay 1580 especies vegetales y algunos ejemplares son únicos en la Ciudad y/o en el país.
Hello! Today I come to share this post dedicated specifically to this place to visit in Buenos Aires, which for me, is a must stop if you are in the city.
The Botanical Garden has 5 hectares dedicated to the Argentine flora and another 2, with species from the temperate forests of the five continents. There are 1580 plant species and some specimens are unique in the city and / or in the country.
Posee tres jardines: uno de estilo francés, uno romano y uno oriental; un herbario, 5 invernaderos (el mayor de ellos, de estilo Art Nouveau, fue traído en 1897 desde Francia y representa un magnífico ejemplo de la utilización de hierro y vidrio en las construcciones de principio de siglo, por lo que fue premiado en la Exposición Universal de París de 1900)
It has three gardens: one French, one Roman and one Oriental; a herbarium, 5 greenhouses (the largest of them, in Art Nouveau style, was brought in 1897 from France and represents a magnificent example of the use of iron and glass in the constructions of the beginning of the century, for which it was awarded a prize at the Universal Exhibition of Paris in 1900).
Además, tiene un hermoso Jardín para Mariposas: Un espacio donde las plantas elegidas permiten el desarrollo de su ciclo completo: huevo, oruga, crisálida y adulto. A diferencia de un mariposario cerrado, en el que las especies permanecen dentro de un invernáculo o recinto, en este sitio especial del Jardín Botánico se alimentan y reproducen a cielo abierto. Es hermoso! 😍
In addition, it has a beautiful Butterfly Garden: A space where the chosen plants allow the development of their complete cycle: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis and adult. Unlike a closed butterfly garden, where the species remain inside a greenhouse or enclosure, in this special site of the Botanical Garden they feed and reproduce under the open sky. It's beautiful 😍
Buenos Aires se encuentra entre las urbes con mayor cantidad de aves en el mundo: alrededor de 300 especies viven en la ciudad y muchas pueden observarse con facilidad, ya que aprovechan dichos espacios para refugiarse, alimentarse y reproducirse.
Buenos Aires is among the cities with the largest number of birds in the world: around 300 species live in the city and many can be easily observed, as they take advantage of these spaces to take refuge, feed and reproduce.
Se destacan las fuentes y la valiosa colección de esculturas que evocan a la naturaleza, la historia y la música, y la columna meteorológica donada por la comunidad austro-húngara en 1910.
Highlights include the fountains and the valuable collection of sculptures that evoke nature, history and music, and the meteorological column donated by the Austro-Hungarian community in 1910.
Para ir llegando al fin del post... es muy valioso destacar también, que, siendo un jardín entre dos avenidas muy transitadas, uno puede recorrer los senderos y admirar la naturaleza, sin escuchar mas que el sonido de los pájaros. Es transportarse de la ciudad, a un bosque, en 1 minuto. Realmente un muy lindo lugar para relajarse, leer un libro, o sentarse a respirar aire puro.
To come to the end of the post... it is also very valuable to point out that, being a garden between two busy avenues, one can walk along the paths and admire nature, without hearing more than the sound of birds. It is like being transported from the city to a forest in 1 minute. Really a nice place to relax, read a book, or sit and breathe fresh air.
Y en esta casona de estilo inglés, se realizan muestras de arte temporarias y talleres. También funciona la Escuela de Jardinería del Gobierno de la Ciudad y una biblioteca de botánica. 🍃
And in this English-style mansion, temporary art exhibitions and workshops are held. It also houses the City Government Gardening School and a botany library. 🍃
