A hive rant
I don't think I ever did a post like this but, I just been getting fed up with how things be going out here.
WE ARE NOT DOING ENOUGH TO GROW THIS CHAIN.
Now I am far from perfect I try my best but I am not going to lie, I have never been great with engagement and I have really fallen off from that, way back I would make a bit of an effort and usually drop some comments mostly not very high effort /bot calls on SGS members posts, I should try to do a better job on that but I really rather just make content, I know it ain't right and I should try to do some more engaging.
With all that being said I have tried to onboard folks in various ways onto our great platform and every single time I had little to no support from the hive community, My recent Music 4 hive effort is a perfect illustration it is a very powerful onboarding effort with great potential and a nice bonus for the hive community and I damn near have to beg and pry for support... that just really grinds my gears.
I get it we are all busy but it really doesn't take much, something as simple as leaving a comment on the post so folks landing on it from youtube see a vibrant community not a ghost town...
How about sub like and share the vids, the more people that see them the better the odds that we can land some new users that come for the free music and may end up staying for the awesome community, I still love y'all and I know life gets busy but damn.
Aside from that things going well, I am going wild with the AI stuff every day I find a way to leverage and push these tools harder, if you guys ain't gonna help I am going to have to rely on the machines for my onboarding effort 🤣
Anyway that is about it for my rant I have been working on a bi annual personal hive rating... another thing I am trying to do to better this chain that no one is going to support again ? I hope not and I hope we all can do better me including.
I am always open to suggestion and don't you ever be afraid to call me out I will have much respect for you non for them yes men.
Anyway peace and love y'all maybe I get around to posting that fancy precious metals post tomorrow but probably will be too busy.

The only thing that changed after the fork was who the new whales are. They all circle jerk each other and don’t care about anything else. We try to make a difference and they basically laugh at us….

Nah, it’s got much worse.
There are so many problems here that it's just screaming into the void at this point. We are pushing in the wrong direction in many ways but there are some people that have the support already and milk it, and others which just don't have the right tools/experience to do what they're doing, and also some genuinely good ideas and attempts at the same time.
It's very messy. I can't even be bothered to go into it all because it really is just screaming into the void. Naturally I'm no single person that comes with all the answers, but we all see the problems and we aren't doing nearly enough to address them.
I totally get that and I feel we are squandering opportunities here as hive is a chain with so much potential to help humanity and that is what it is really about for me, when I discovered blockchain I knew it was the missing piece humanity needed to have more fair and efficient governance systems and hive is a live social experiments testing these kinds of things. There is power in numbers, We should bring like minded hive users together and see if we can turn this chain around
yeah honestly i didn't think this place would still have about 5k active users this many years in, with communities barely pushing 200 weekly posters, i didn't think we'd be stuck with finance/travel/photography as the main subjects on here when communities first rolled out either
the price is weak but that doesn't really bother me, the low trade volume does though and it does feel like we're treading a very thin line with a potential delisting on binance if things don't pick up
there's some good stuff appearing here and there for us, some of the front-ends are adding some really neat features, but they're features for existing hive users and aren't going to attract anyone new; and whatever marketing is being funded is basically like pissing into the wind
the only thing we have going for us is splinterlands and that's something the hive chain started with, and even so, blockchain games aren't particularly appealing to anyone in this market, they went the way of the NFT
again i know it's so easy to complain, and it's so easy to point fingers, there's a good argument to be made of well why haven't i personally done anything? in some ways that's a fair judgement to make, i don't blame any specific person or group, it's more that we as a collective have been dragging our feet a little
instead of finding ways to draw in attention, we're focusing on nonsensical things like KE and who is supposedly over-rewarded when others make 4x more than the average person per post
whenever it comes to discussions like this, i tend to just shut up and ignore it, and do my own thing; just post what i want and go, but sometimes i see a post like ours and can't help but agree that we're definitely a bit lost
there was a time where we were raging on about getting smart contracts up and going, that was the go-to thing for hive's success, and now that's dead in the water too in the industry; we aren't even trying to chase trends anymore (web2.0 or web3.0), we're just chugging along as each day comes and goes, like the ambition died and we're just clinging to the reward pool

The hive watch team killed the chain with their rediculous demands for appeal sometimes you go to their discord to state your problems with them and they ignore you, you can targeting smaller accounts trying to grow on the chain. Hive is money and when one is invested they don't like others telling them how to manage their money hence the little it no traction from VCs as they know they might to get value on return on investment abiding by those rules and the downvote rules changed and a clear easier part decided hive can't retain new accounts because they are barely earnings anything reasonable but are been flagged by whales who do little not nothing to promote the chain.

I just came upon this post via the Saturday Savers Club post. Regarding engagement, it's a skill and an art that is developed over time. When I first started on Hive, I sucked at it, but I began making an effort at it every day, and not just for my own benefit, but for those to whom I was responding, too. Now I'm near the top in engagement because I've made it a part of my daily routine.
Onboarding people to Hive is not something that I've found easy either, and I've tried many times. When I see newcomers making an honest effort. I support them as much as I'm able, because their success is our success. I'm one of the core leaders of the We Are Alive Tribe, and we do our best to support everyone as much as possible, and I go to great effort to make sure that newcomers feel welcome, and to help teach them how to grow and thrive on Hive. If it would assist your onboarding efforts, you could suggest that your onboardees join our community, and begin engaging with our various community activities. No newcomers will be left behind.
