The cardinal woodpecker Dendropicos fuscescens

Latin nameObservation dateLocation
Dendropicos fuscescens2.12.2021Kruger National Park, South Africa

It took me several long minutes to photograph this pretty little woodpecker with a 2-kilogram lens against my eye. It was still hiding in the bushes, heading out of the picnic area along the river, and I couldn't follow it there.
