Making another form of straight skirt with pleated slit at the back
Hello everyone
Greetings from me to you this beautiful day, I hope you all are doing great just as I am here. It's my pleasure to share with you the making of this beautiful straight skirt with pleated slit at the back.
Before now, I have been making different outfit of skirt and blouse bodice and majorly, I make the most of straight pencil skirt then with a desired blouse. Recently, I thought to myself, enough of all these skirt, can't I try something different, then in my search, I came across a beautiful straight skirt with pleated slit at the back, it was so beautiful, then I decided to make it with my next fabric.
At first, I tried to understand how it was cut but couldn't get it, I went online and search on YouTube on the cutting process which gave me a clear understanding on how it was cut and sewn, it was so easy and I decided to try it out.
Following the step by step process, I was able to make mine and it was so beautiful.
To start with, I cut out my front part of a straight skirt which was later placed on another folded fabric to cut the back pattern with the pleated slit.
To make the pleat, after placing the front pattern to another folded fabric, I moved inward by 8" and mark out the zipper allowance downward then cut out leaving the 8" to the length of my pleat.
The line marked out with 1.5" were sewn and pleated in form of an inverted pleat and secure at the tip with back stitches after which the line sewn were loosen.
Finally, I have a stylish way of making my straight skirt and this turned out so beautiful just as I sew it.
One thing is, do not get yourself limited, anything you find doing, search for more creative ideas, watch videos online, don't just stop at a spot, make research and you will be surprised at what you can do. This has really helped me alot.
That is amazing, keep up with the good works and the sky will be ur limit...!
Nice skirt, I liked the work, good that you managed to make it even though at first you thought it would be difficult.
Wow this is beautiful my friend. Thanks for sharing this
