Not Perfect, Maybe a Start
Just a phone photo of a broken light at a party. It was interesting, probably even more in person then on this photo. But maybe an excuse to share an interesting video about phone photography and try to make sure you don't forget i exist here :D
I never owned a good phone with good camera and i have DSLR's for quite some time, so there are maybe 2 photos that i taken with my phone that i am really happy with. And that could be partly because i don't take a lot of photos with my phone. Now that i got a phone with decent camera, maybe i will start doing it more.
Few days ago i saw this video by Jamie Windsor "13 Smartphone Photography tips & tricks". A lot of the youtube photographers that i follow transformed into a equipment review shills, and it became a bit boring when your sub page on a day has 20 reviews of a new camera. So whenever Jamie Windsor publishes a video it is a breath of fresh air. Every time he talks about a subject you can feel the passion for photography and you will learn something. So it is not just 13 tips and tricks.
And if you never seen his videos, i apologies for the time you will spent binging them :)
In other news 9 days ago was my 5. Hive Birthday. I am not sure do i feel like i was on Hive my whole internet life or like it was just a year ago. I had an idea to write a big post about the Hive journey but a photo will probably say it all

i have a samsun s21 ultra and tthis phone have a beast camera!! i have took some good photos with it, the thing is that once you know about composition and framing you can do a GOOD PHOTO with anything....

i got pixel 6a, should be a good camera. i always had cheap or weird phones (or combination of both (like yotaphone :) )) and had a dslr for years so it camera was always my first choice. Also i do a lot of the bad light condition photos and phones are still not great at that.
The guy is really good, and always has a lot of examples that get you think about art part of photography.
Weell, if you have a good camera you didnt really needed to take photos with the phone hahah

Btw. the problem when you get a phone with a decent camera, you become lazy to wear a regular camera with you... I hope it will not happen to you! 😃
i seen it but had to dig around to find it now.
could be the "bad" conditions i photograph a lot but i never got into the phone photography. I doubt i will get to the point of not taking my camera with me. it will probably be a nice exercise as you need to work harder to get good shots. I was just looking at one of my first videos i filmed long time ago with canon 600d and light defused with white bed sheets :) and it looks better than some shots taken with my new camera. but we spend a lot more time in preps because of all the limitations.
I really like that simple photo of yours. I actually also enjoy using my phone camera for that type of picture - abstracts and shapes are really easy to capture.

i need to get into the taking more photos with my phone. could be a nice exercise almost like shooting film or prime lenses. Makes you work more.
