Apatin, Road Trip
Almost month and half now, a friend of mine was "home" (not sure what is home for him now) from Vancouver, so i went on a road trip to Apatin for a visit. There is a similar post from two years ago :).
Two from the road. The place is called Titelski breg (Plateau of Titel). The high ground is actually behind me, it is just not interesting to look at it from the road :). And i didn't have the time to climb up.
On the bottom picture is an old well and i think it is still used to get water for sheep. Anyone who passed this place few times knows about the spring located nearby. It is famous because it has a smell of rotten eggs, or something like that. And everyone there drinks it. I think the smell is from sulfur in it, and they claim it does not smell after few hours.
Weather those days was unpredictable. And it had to rain at least for a hour or two every day. Managed to get there with a small trouble with the car and of course it happened while it was raining. (i got a check oil light warning, had oil with me)
Got the in the late afternoon. Horrendously lost couple of Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Games while catching up whit what's new in life.
When we woke up the sun was shining, so it looked like a good day for some walking around.
Old water station, used long time ago, before Danube changed it's course and the station was not needed anymore.
While walking to Vagoni (weekend settlement, does this mean anything in english?) we stumbled upon this little guy.
Effort was spent to move him off the road to safety. We hope that was the place he was trying to get :)
We continued on the road that goes next to a "lake" made from old Danube course and got to Smuđ Čarda. As we were getting to the water they sky opened with a heavy downpour. Luckily there is a restaurant so we waited it out. It looks like a nice place to get a meal and enjoy few hours next to the water.
Later that evening i again got humiliated in HOMM3.
Next day we were not so lucky with the weather as it was already raining when we woke up. So we decided to stay on the roads and just go to Banja Junaković.
There is a pretty big forest trail there, fried was trying his best to crash a drone.
And some art in front of the Spa.
Ad on the art. Translated it says "dachshunds in exotic colors". Don't know a lot about dachshunds so i am not sure what is exotic in those colors.
And one monument from our Tito era. This one keeps the concrete with sharp edges style, it is just not big as they were known to make them. It is a Memorial to fallen pilots in WWII, in April 1941 bombings.
Congratulations, your post has been added to Pinmapple! 🎉🥳🍍
Did you know you have your own profile map?
And every post has their own map too!
Want to have your post on the map too?
Even though the weather was so so, you took some amazing shots. That's a perfect place to get lost in time and focus on what comes your way :)
i struggle with nature photography, i need to get it to my mind that i am not trying to create the best landscape photo :)
The best is a relative term and you are right, you need to do more and stop struggling. Just do you best and it'll be fine :)
Green!!! And grey skies - must be some connection between the rain and that green grass :))
Haha, the ad is funny. Dachshunds are usually black or brown, so these colourful doggies are probably the exotic ones :)
i was a bit disappointed with the weather, i like that part of Danube, so was hoping to spend some more time by the river.
The ad was on the art, it is some kind of a metal fish. but then we saw exotic dachshunds, imagined it in green, red and blue colors :)
I hope the weather will be good in summer at least :D
Beautiful art there, I must confess. Apart from the heavy downpour disrupting your trip every now and then, I am sure you enjoyed yourself. I am also hoping you guys gave the turtle a head start in the right direction, he was looking cute, and that was really kind of you. I don't know if I would drink the sulphuric water because you said it often smells, maybe, if I resided in that area, I would have gotten accustomed to it. Thank you for sharing.
i tried that water few times, not my cup of tea. but there are people that specifically go there just for the water :)
The weather looks cool
The art and every other thing looks perfect
I like that
thanks
i like that part of Danube, it is kinda peaceful.

hey @lizanomadsoul maybe a stupid question, if i copy several places from Pinmapple site and add them to the post, would it show it in all those places on the map?
Thanks for the honorable mention.
There are no such things as stupid questions @bil.prag😀 - unfortunately its only possible to link it your post once to the map. Sorry. - if you are talking about several places in your post, choose one to pin at or pin it in the middle.
Thanks
Amazing photography 😍😍
thanks
After the rain, the place looks more beautiful as we see in all the pictures. The way all these sculptures are made, it takes a lot of work and time to make them look so beautiful. You have captured all these pictures on perfect time. Thanks for sharing.
most of the time rain does add to the look in photographs. especially when you don't have the time to wait on the spot till the perfect time of the day.
Thanks
It's a pity that you had bad weather, but despite that, you did some amazing photos! Good job!
Behind that water station, there is a small lake where I used to go fishing as a child... 😃
Btw... We should definitely organize some Hive meetup in mid-July... We will stay in contact!
Probably this one :)

send a massage when you get here :)
yup... that one, but from the other side...
See you in summer... ;)
Beautiful landscapes, well I can say that because from the photos I do not have to feel the rain... I bet that was uncomfortable. Nevertheless, nice to see this part of the Danube:)
(the turtle is adorable🙃)
it was just a bit annoying as we were not able to spent more time out :)

I like how this trip somehow revolves around water and art, you even make art with your photographs.
the photos you took of the helicopter were also massive!
