Time machine's working again!
I always liked to go back to my old childhood photos. No matter which social network I had used before, Facebook or Instagram, I enjoyed looking at those memories from time to time and share them with my friends. Maybe some people think this is too nostalgic, but I really love opening my Google Photos, checking my computer folders and of course all those old printed albums. Photos were not so common before like they are now, but they had more meaning and felt more unique. Every moment was taken with more attention, more patience and more heart. And before digital cameras, that was something else. You take a photo, then you go to a photo shop and ask them to develop the film. Ok, I am maybe talking a bit too much now hihi, because that was when I was reaaally small. These photos that I will share here are from our first Sony and Samsung digital cameras. I remember that Sony had a big rechargeable battery and Samsung worked on two normal batteries like the ones you put in a wall clock. Both cameras still work today and they are sleeping in a cabinet above the TV, together with old phones and other dinosaurs of technology. 😊 Maybe I will show you that collection another time.

For this blog I decided to choose a few photos where I am clearly alone in the front. I did this because I do not want to use photos of other people without their permission. Even if I would loooove to show funny photos with my sister, brothers, cousins, whole family and all the kids from my neighborhood and school, I will stay with these few.
These pictures are not just photos. They are small time capsules that instantly bring me back to the exact second when they were taken. I remember when each photo happened and I remember how I felt, even what I was thinking back then. They have smells and tastes inside them, everything together in one moment. <3 For example, this picture where I sit at the computer. I remember it was winter time, maybe even some day of January after the New Year's Eve. The house was warm and cozy. I was a small girl, fresh and clean after a bath, wearing the softest pajamas and warm handmade “šputke” (little knitted short socks that all our Balkan grandmas make for their kids). When you also get to choose the colors of the knitting, WOHOO! that is a special level of happiness. 😍

And this computer, our first computer ever. Games with shooting ducks, Chicken Invaders, all those Miniclip games, the best! We could sit for hours and play the same levels again and again. I must confess, even today when I am 28, sometimes I feel like downloading those old games, playing for one evening and then deleting everything. Honestly, it is still a lot of fun.
Also, this red Audi from the photo, from the beginning of the 2000s, was the best car ever in my childhood eyes. I think the model was American-market B2 Quattro. We used it until around 2015, but it feels like it was a long long time ago. It is strange how time moves faster now than before. Some people even say there is real proof that time goes faster. I am not sure, but I like to think about it.

When I go through these photos, it is not uncomfortable for me, even when I clearly see the changes in my behavior and that moment when I stopped being just a carefree child. I can see where early anxiety started and when I began thinking too much about life, the world, shame, fear and even the end of the world. My sister and I had the same silly worries when we were that young. Maybe it is something in our genes, who knows. Today I can smile about it. :D
There is also one photo that shows I always preferred to be behind the camera, not in front of it. I was always nervous when I had to take class photos at school. Every single year, on every picture I looked like a different person because I panicked and made strange faces. xD I usually puffed my cheeks or made a weird smile or looked away just to avoid the eye contact with camera guy. I believe many people can understand that feeling. I think it is rare that a person who loves photography also enjoys being a model. Maybe you'll agree with me on that.

Anyway, that is all for now. When I go to my family home next time, I will take pictures of all those old cameras and share them here. If I do not forget, of course. :D Until the next blog, maybe tomorrow, maybe in a few days, See ya! 😊
