Sun-kissed daisies (:
Spring is heeere. Well, not exactly by the calendar yet, it still has not officially started, but the sun has clearly and firmly decided to show its teeth these days, and the blooming meadow flowers are everywhere. There are violets all around, both purple and white, bright yellow dandelions and of course these beauties, daisies.
Whenever we picked these tiny flowers as kids, I would always choose daisies instead of violets. For a very simple reason. They are bigger, so I could make a small bouquet faster, haha. Anyway, I will not turn this blog into random writing about my laziness (read: cleverness). xD I will tell you a little about daisies.
Kingdom: Plantae Clade: Tracheophytes Clade: Angiosperms Clade: Eudicots Clade: Asterids Order: Asterales Family: Asteraceae Genus: Bellis Species: B. perennis
If this means anything to you. 😄 I often look at this kind of information for plants that catch my attention, but I forget it at the speed of light. I have always been fascinated by these Latin names. Somehow they always sound so elegant.

We usually call it Bela Rada and in our language that literaly means White Rada (Rada is a name), and when I was little I always wondered which Rada or Radmila it was named after. Likee who is that woman the flower was named after, and why exactly Rada? Why is the flower not called Bela Bojana instead? xD
And I will not even start talking about Handsome Jova. That one is even more outrageous, haha.
Anyway, some of the other names are:
krasuljak – little beauty / pretty little one
tratinčica – little meadow flower
belka – little white one
katarinčica – little Catherine
iskrica – little spark

Did you know that they can be eaten? I did not know either. But it actually makes sense. If I eat dandelion, why would I not eat this one too?
When it comes to dandelion, I really like the young leaves in a salad. But with this plant, it somehow feels like I would enjoy the taste of the petals more than the leaves. If you have ever tried it, write to me and tell me what it tastes like. I am really curious. And does it even have a specific taste or note, or is it just the typical herby, green flavor? 😄

This little cute smelly snout, our little stink dog as we like to call her, had to smell the bouquet too. But that immediately made me think about something else. Do dogs experience smells the same way we do?
I mean, I know they have a strong sense of smell, but when they smell a daisy, do they feel the same scent that we do, or maybe something completely different? Maybe flowers smell like something sweet to them, like chocolate or a hamburger… hmm.
I am talking too much nonsense again. Instead of just googling the things I wonder about. But you will understand me more easily than chatgpt. I confuse him in a second. xD

All of these photos were taken with a mobile phone, a Samsung A56, a few days ago on the land where our weekend house stands (which was once our great-grandmother's home). That's where the most beautiful photos always happen. ❤️
Thank you very much for reading. I am sending everyone a smiling, sun warmed flower. 🌼

You're welcome, I'm happy to appreciate and share great posts.
No, they don't experience smells the same way as us. They have a way better sense of smelling, we know that, but they appreciate the smells in a different way. You appreciate flowers for their smell, scent, but most of all for their beauty. Dogs can't appreciate beauty.
Anyway, the daisies are lovely. We don't have them yet, or I haven't seen any yet. 🤗
I knew they had a good sense of smell, but I did not know about that lack of awareness of something being beautiful. So interesting. Today it is even sunnier, and the flowers have multiplied even more. I am sending them with postexpress so they can bloom there where you are too. <3 🌼
Awww, how sweet 😘 thank you 😊

Daisy is always beautiful as they are. 😍🥰
Simple but unique. <3
Yeah.🥰
After such wonderful photos, we can officially say — spring has arrived! 🌸
Are these "visibaba" or literally "hanging grandma" on Russian too? 😁
No, this is the first time I've heard this phrase - but it's funny! 😂
