Attention... lot of whiteness in this blog, put your glasses on!

Finally, snow! A real winter fairy tale. Serbia has been on its way for a good ten or fifteen years now to become a country with a seaside climate, we are only missing the sea... (: Yes, the winters have been so warm that you didn't even need a proper thick winter jacket, nor tights under your jeans and two pairs of socks... nothing like that, just a regular autumn jacket!

I remember when I was a kid, all the way until the end of my primary school, we really knew what winter was. Back then, I was not a fan of summer at all, especially during puberty with all those irrational fears, when I preferred to spend the whole summer in a dark room in front of the computer just playing Sims 1 <3 (for example) waiting for the cold weather so I could put on my jacket, pull the hood over my head and all my anxiety would disappear. Well, not all of it, but at least half, which already felt like a big relief.

Just a few days ago it was sunny like another bit colder spring day but yesterday this snowy blanket kind of "surprised" all of us. We almost forgot what it looks like. In all these previous years it was either mixed with rain or there was no snow at all. Soooo, I think it's a pleasant suprise for most of us. 😊

It's the second day since the snow fell like this and today it was wonderful to walk around the property and make fresh tracks where nobody had stepped yet, sooo beautiful. During that little walk I took a lot photos but for this first snowy blog of the year I chose the ones where the whiteness is simply enchanting. Some of them I took from up close, some from far away, some from the attic of the house and some from a frog perspective, while crouching in the snow. My leather autumn boots, which are usually cold anyway, slowly started letting the water in. Very polite boots, you could say. xD

That was the moment when I realized that I am totally unprepared for the kind of winter I actually love. How is that even possible? As soon as I got back home, I added rubber boots to my shopping list. Ideally they would be yellow, cause here's a big Kill Bill fan, but never mind, the classic green fishing/farming boots will also do the job, no problem. (:

But all of that has its own charm. You go outside, you freeze, your fingers swell and turn red, your pants get wet up to your knees, your feet freeze, your nose goes crazy. And then you walk back into a warm home and your skin starts to burn from the temperature difference, it is wonderful. Okay, I probably sound like a huge masochist here, but it really is a good feeling, isn't it? 🥰
