PhotoFeed Contest - Wildlife - Scaly-breasted Lorikeet

While we stayed in our airbnb apartment in Maroochydore right opposite the beach we did not only have the famous and annoying Rainbow Lorikeets come to visit us.

A few days before we left I saw another kind of Lorikeet. First I thought its a Little Lorikeet but then found out that they look a bit different. After some more research I learned that they are called Scaly-breasted Lorikeet due to their green-yellow feathered breast.

They are not as noisy as the other ones and also way more shy. They did not even trust us enough to come to our balcony but I got some nice shots of them hanging on the balcony above us.

That first shot is my entry to the contest.

They really wanted to come down to try these yummy grapes but they did not had the balls. :)

Absolutely beautiful birds. Can´t wait to take photos of all the different kinds of birds here. Heard a Kookaburra today but couldn´t see him. Hope he shows up for the next round of this contest.
