CCC's Street Art Contest #159 ROA, Townsville, Australia

After winning the last round of this amazing streetart contest I feel like I have to follow up on my last entry and keep the quality high with an even more impressive piece of art.

The following painting is one of the most amazing ones I´ve seen in a while from an artist I have covered a few times already. ROA is known for huge black and white murals that not infrequently cover whole buildings. The art of the 47 year old from belgium covers walls all over the world and I´ve even seen one in Portugal where I usually spend european winter.

Untitled [Croc and Turtle] is ROA's most ambitious Townsville mural featuring a large-scale crocodile and turtle. This artwork is indicative of ROA's inclination to 'stack' native fauna as part of his designs. ROA stated, "It [Townsville's Street Art Movement] can provide inspiration and offer much enjoyment...
Street art is a global movement with different practices and ways to approach it.

Luckily that huge parking deck was almost empty so I had enough space to take photos from different angles. Look at how small the cars look like next to this masterpiece of art.

Would be very interesting to know how long it took him to finish that gigantic painting. Whats your guess, how log does one need to paint such a huge mural?

Impressive, I don't think I've ever seen anything like that! I'm curious to know how long that mural is, and of course to know how long it took him to do it?

Once again, amazing

Definitely one of the biggest I´ve seen as well. I would say its roughly 50m long and about 10m high. I´ve got a friend who does paintings that size and I would say it took him around 3-5 days?!

I knew it took longer to paint a mural of that size. Great job!

This is a breathtaking art, I wonder maybe it took a month to finish.

It is absolutely. Not sure if a month is a bit long but it definitely took up to a week.
