Visiting the open-air museum [ESP/ENG]

¡Hola Hola, gente de internet! ¿Cómo están? Hace un par de días tuve la oportunidad de visitar un preciso lugar que está justo al frente de donde yo solía trabajar hasta hace poquito, se trata de un museo al aire libre, pero yo no lo había visitado antes porque nunca tenía tiempo, pero ya que mi hermana y yo andábamos haciendo algunas diligencias juntas y pasamos por este lugar yo quise ir a echarle un vistazo, además también nos sirvió para descansar un rato y relajarnos. Se llama Museo al aire libre Andrés Pérez Mujica, el cuál exhibe las obras más interesantes de grandes artistas de la ciudad.

Hello, hello, people of the internet! How are you? A couple of days ago, I had the opportunity to visit a very specific place right across from where I used to work until recently. It's an open-air museum. I hadn't been there before because I never had the time. However, since my sister and I were running some errands together and passed by this place, I wanted to check it out. It also gave us a chance to rest and relax. It's called the Andrés Pérez Mujica Open-Air Museum, and it exhibits the most interesting works by the city's great artists.

El espacio es muy bonito y tiene un ambiente muy agradable, tal como en cualquier museo, a lo largo de todo el recorrido puedes encontrarte con esculturas muy interesantes del arte contemporáneo, algunas datan de los años 80 pero también hay otras más recientes, ya que en el año 2019 este espacio fue rescatado y restaurado. Cada escultura está debidamente identificada con el nombre del autor, el nombre de la obra y el año en el que fue terminada. También hay muchas banquetas para descansar y muchísimos árboles, por lo cuál a pesar de ser mediodía había muchísima sombra para refugiarse y una brisa deliciosa y refrescante.

The space is very beautiful and has a pleasant atmosphere, just like any museum. Throughout the tour, you can find very interesting contemporary art sculptures. Some date back to the 1980s, but there are also more recent ones, since this space was rescued and restored in 2019. Each sculpture is duly identified with the name of the artist, the title of the work, and the year it was completed. There are also plenty of benches for resting and many trees, so despite it being midday, there was plenty of shade to shelter from and a delightful, refreshing breeze.

Las esculturas están distribuidas por toda la plaza, así que me pasé largo rato admirándolas y leyendo las fichas con su información, algunas de ellas me gustaron bastante, pero hay otras con las que honestamente no sentí gran conexión. Algo que me gusta bastante de este lugar es su ubicación ya que tiene un banco y varios restaurantes cerca, lo que lo convierte en un lugar ideal para descansar o degustar algo rico mientras esperas a alguien. Sin embargo también es un lugar ideal para hacer fotos, y lo pude comprobar al ver a algunos estudiantes de la escuela de fotografía y diseño que está cerca, incluso nos preguntaron a mi hermana y a mí si podíamos ayudarlos sirviéndoles como modelo ya que necesitaban hacer algunas fotos probando diferentes planos.

The sculptures are spread throughout the plaza, so I spent a long time admiring them and reading the information sheets. I really liked some of them, but there were others I honestly didn't feel much connection with. Something I really like about this place is its location, as it has a bank and several restaurants nearby, making it an ideal place to rest or enjoy something delicious while waiting for someone. However, it's also an ideal place for taking photos, as I saw some students from the nearby photography and design school. They even asked my sister and me if we could help them by serving as models, as they needed to take some photos, trying out different angles.

Sin lugar a dudas estar en un lugar como este te ayuda a relajarte y desestresarte un poco en medio del ajetreo de la ciudad, es un espacio dedicado al arte y al esparcimiento, así que la próxima vez que yo esté por allí cerca, seguramente me sentaré un rato a esperar a que los árboles de mango me regalen algunos de sus frutos 😄, no, no es cierto, aún no es temporada, pero también me alegró ver otros árboles de una fruta riquísima que por aquí llamamos "Perita" es tal cuál, con forma de pera pero mucho más pequeña, con una piel rojo intenso y una pulpa de color blanco.

Without a doubt being in a place like this helps you relax and de-stress a little in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city, it is a space dedicated to art and recreation, so the next time I am around there, I will surely sit for a while to wait for the mango trees to give me some of their fruits 😄, no, it is not true, it is not the season yet, but I was also happy to see other trees of a delicious fruit that around here we call "Perita" it is exactly like that, pear-shaped but much smaller, with a deep red skin and white pulp.
