[ENG] Diversity of animals in a small zoo in Barquisimeto, Venezuela [ESP] Diversidad de animales en un pequeño zoo en Barquisimeto, Venezuela

Dear friends, on this occasion I am pleased to present a series of photos taken at the Bararida Zoological Park, located in the city of Barquisimeto, on the corner of Calle 12 and Carrera 28, 350 kilometers west of Caracas-Venezuela, whose temperature the annual average ranges between a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 33, in degrees Celsius. The photos are intended to demonstrate the zoological diversity of the park, which is also a botanical and breeding center for animals in danger of extinction.
The park is very crowded on weekends by Barquisimetans and visitors to the city with no problems moving around its grounds, as it has a maximum capacity of 2000 people who can enjoy the park, its animals and the attractions that are held frequently.
In the 18 and a half hectares that the park covers, 155 species of animals are housed, including mammals, birds, reptiles, not counting fish. Two characteristics make it unique from a zoological point of view: it has the largest number of spider monkeys in captivity in the world and it is the only zoo in Latin America that has managed to reproduce the manatee. According to information obtained from the internet, they have also achieved the reproduction of the Andean or Spectacled bear, in addition to the Tapir, for the first time in Venezuela.
It has been 55 years since the planting of the trees began and the construction of the roads and the artificial lake began. I am an exceptional witness to this fact because I lived in the urbanization of the same name a few meters from the park that had just begun to be planted and conditioned. The motto of the park is the preservation and reproduction in captivity of animal species, both native and foreign, listed as endangered by international organizations.
All the photos shown in this post are my property, taken by my goddaughter Nilbia Sánchez, on a recent visit to the park, at my express request. The common names of the animals, by what they are known, have been taken from *https://es.scribd.com/document/339262940/Especies-del-Zoologico-Bararida and from the information displayed on posters throughout the park.

Every time I see this animal I always remember the animation ICE AGE, which is my son's favorite.
