Sunday Zentangle | Imitation
The first time I saw a similar pattern, it was from one of @maryed's Instagram stories. And I knew I wanted to try making one too. The toughest part of this one is creating the pattern of the leaves. Trying to keep them around the same width and also filling the rest of the blank space with different lengths and directions.
It is a lot of work even if the space to make all the lines is smaller than usual. And fortunately, it is smaller. This is a dimension where patters do not get frustrating. And that's the best part of it.
After making the leaves and filling the spaces with black ink, came the decision of what colours to use to finish the design. I decided to use an inverted versión of the colors used by my friend. Hers had a cold palette in the background, so mine would have a warm one. The same in true for the leaves.
However, I did notice it look like a lot of hemp in the end. This is unintentional, but it made me laugh once the pattern was complete. Sometimes these combinations of colors end up with a lot of meaning that is not related to the actual ideas of the one making the patterns. That is totally ok.
These are some results I liked a lot. And that is also a milestone of improvement in the use of my hands for coloring and drawing shapes. And I'll count my victories even if they are small.
