Sunday Zentangle | Black and White

This was a test of patience. I thought for a second that not adding color to the patterns was easier. I couldn't have been more wrong. It seems that filling up blanks with just the black marker is a lot of job. Creating the pattern took the longest time.
Until this pattern, I had not taken two days to complete the whole Zentangle. This is also a reminder of working in smaller formats to not get frustrated at the whole task.
The petals inside the different size of squares made the whole job tougher. Having to adjust the lines and making sure the petals stay in relative size the margin of each part. Just the kind of calligraphy one gets to understand how to move the lines.
None of this compares with filling the blanks. The pattern wasn't complete until the sides of the petals were filled with black ink. The idea of the pattern reminds me of scarfs and ties with similar designs. I gotta say that making sure the only didn't get inside the petal shape was excruciating. And here I thought this was supposed to be relaxing. This is just a reflection of my impatience working against me as I focus on the task.
This was the part that took more time to complete. It was by far more of a surgical task than drawing the line. The results were nice but I'd never create a pattern like this in such a scale. It is too much work for something that is supposed to relax me. Also, it works against the idea of sitting down and completing the Zentangle in one go.
