Monomad Challenge | Reality Check

Not everything is about the nice dog or gifts. Sometimes life cones knocking and there's no other thing to do but to answer. Some weeks ago, the toilet was getting annoying by having a leak and the sound was driving everyone crazy. As the de facto Handyman of the house, it was my duty to check the problem. We had to change the internal system. So my parents went out to buy it and then I got to chenge it.
It was messy. I got all wet changing it this time. Some parts had already gone past their usefulness. Getting off the tank have me some problems as parts of it were covered with mud. It is all the sediment that comes from the pipes and gets stuck wherever water stays still.
I had to use extra tape on many parts to make sure there where no leaks. And the worst part was that we had some big ones for some time after I changed all of this. Let me tell you, there are some screws that connect the tank to the base. These need to be of a certain diameter depending on the model of the toilet. Some thinner models use slim metal screws. Thicker models require thicker screws. Mine is of the second type. The new system brought metal screws. And these didn't fit properly. They holded out the tank on place, but the space wasn't filled as needed. This water was leaking.
It took me a while to realize this and I had to get the tank off again. When I got the old screws in place, one broke whike I tighten it. That's the other issue. Thicker screws are usually made of plastic, so they can't hand out too much pressure. Fortunately, there's a big bag with leftovers from repairs and we had some replacements.
After placing the tank again, the leakage stopped. And with the new system, there's was no more spillage of water and the toilet works just fine. It is not a lot of work, but someone has to do it.
