Hello there, black-and-white photography lovers!

It's been a while since I did a post about Hands at Work. Last week, mom was working on something. She knows how to use a sewing machine and got this one that grandma left. She had previously gone out to by some threads. And there she was working on some tablecloths.

Once I hear the machine working, I had to go out and bother her while she worked to get some shot at what her hands were doing. If course, the realization comes quick. Here's where all the hand-skills came.

It's always amazing to watch hands doing something that has become second nature to them. Mom had the luck of having some sewing classes at school. Back in those days people got the chance to learn some crafts as part of their curriculum. Pretty nice, but that thing was lost for years until now that it has seen a sort of revival. Not as good as it used to be, to tell you the truth.

¡Bueno día, amantes de las fotografías en blanco y negro!

Había pasado un rato desde que hice mi última publicación sobre Manos a la Obra. La semana pasada, mi mamá estaba cosiendo algo. Como sabe usar la máquina de coser, tomó prestada la que dejó mi abuela. Ya había salido a comprar tela para unos manteles. Ahora la estaba convirtiendo en eso.

Cuando escuché la máquina andar, sabía que la tenía que fastidiar un momento para tomar una fotos. Claro que darme cuenta del detalle importante no me tomó mucho rato. De aquí viene todo el tema de las habilidades manuales.

Siempre es interesante ver manos desenvolviéndose en actividades que se han convertido en parte de su naturaleza. Mi mamá tuvo la suerte de ver talleres de corte y costura durante sus años de escuela. En su época, era común que las personas aprendieran oficios durante sus años formativos. Algo muy interesante y útil. Cosa que se perdió durante décadas y ahora se está buscando implementar de la misma manera. No es igual de bueno si me lo preguntan.
