Hello there, black-and-white photography lovers!

Going back to the workshop without spending too much time away from it is a treat. That day, I was learning about the alignment of the heel and end block of a mandolin in order to create enough space for the action of the strings. This might sound like a lot of gibberish to people who don give a dime about instruments, but it's quite an ordeal.

The explanation did not take too long. After the end block is in place, one needs to use a piece of wood to create the alignment of it with the heel. This also move the sound board back. The latter movement is what create the space for the bridge. Thus, proper string action. This is of upmost importance to have good sound protection.

You can see the models for the example and another mandolin that is already pit together. Those were thrown into the explanation to have an idea of how to make the whole procedure.

And during the time between the explanations and talks, I took a chance to photograph Perlita, one the the workshop's pets. She looked so distinguished in her natural spot, that I had to take some shots. I also took the chance to get some boops on that nose.

Talk about having an amazing day. Went there to learn something for future projects and got to photograph a cat. In my book, I count that as a win. Even when I had to walk through downtown. And I hate that bit of the road.

Overall, a nice day to present a book.

How impressive it is to see an instrument like that as in the first picture. And the cat is very beautiful to see up there. Great photos!

Fabricar instrumentos es un arte con detalles y cuidados que se deben dominarse bien, le felicito por su progreso con ese instrumento amigo.

El gato luce genial, estaba en una excelente pose.
