The milky way rising over a cool tree

Hey everyone, I thought I would share the first milky way image I created using a star tracker.

This shot was taken on a clear night just outside of the town I live in and the lights in the foreground on the left come from one of the aged care residencies that we have in town.

I was blown away by the amount of detail I was able to get from the milky way using the star tracker. This is a 180 second long exposure for the milky way tracked, and the foreground is a 2 minute exposure untracked.

I had a lot of fun editing this image and it really makes me want to use it for all of the milky way images I create next year!

Wow! Nice piece of equipment!
Been thinking about buying one of those trackers as well, but have way too little use for it, due to light pollution over here…
