My family’s origin: Terni amore mio, an Italian city that will captivate you

Hello to all my dear friends of the great Liketu community!!! It's a pleasure to be here once again.

Today I bring you a place that is the cradle of my own existence, because my maternal family comes from there. It is Terni, a small town located in the region of Umbria, just a couple of hours from Rome.

It is a very peculiar place, because by chance this city shares a lot of characteristics with the city that my ancestors chose to live: Mendoza (Argentina).

I do not know if they did it intentionally, if they moved around a bit until they found this land so similar to theirs, or if it was pure chance, but the truth is that both Mendoza and Terni have many hills and offer fertile soil for wine production.

The big difference is that the hills of the Italian city are very green, so we are talking about a much more humid climate than the arid Mendoza (also with favorable soils for viticulture, as I mentioned previously).

Less than a year ago, only about seven months, I was in my hometown, Terni, which I often feel more like home than the land where I was born.

I stayed 10 days away from the city, in an apartment that was already inside one of the hills, so I took long walks or took a bus to take me to the center, if just that day I did not want to walk too much.

In this publication I leave you a compilation of images that will give you an idea of what this city has to offer, both in terms of urban landscapes and also in the outskirts of the city center.

It is an excellent destination for those who enjoy nature and are looking to spend a few days relaxing, without too much hustle and bustle. You can imagine that it contrasts greatly with Rome, the big city that many people end up overwhelmed by.

El origen de mi familia: Terni amore mio, una ciudad italiana que te atrapará

Hola a todos mis queridos amigos de la grandiosa comunidad de Liketu!! Es un placer estar por aquí una vez más.

Hoy les traigo un lugar que es la cuna de mi propia existencia, y es que mi familia materna viene de ahí. Se trata de Terni, una ciudad pequeña que se encuentra en la región de Umbría, a tan solo un par de horas de Roma.

Se trata de un lugar muy `peculiar, porque casualmente esta ciudad comparte una gran cantidad de características con la ciudad que mis antepasados eligieron para vivir: Mendoza (Argentina).

Desconozco si lo hicieron intencionalmente, si se movieron un poco hasta encontrar esta tierra tan parecida a la suya, o si fue pura casualidad, pero lo cierto es que tanto Mendoza como Terni cuentan con numerosos cerros y ofrecen un suelo fértil para la actividad vitivinícola.

La gran diferencia es que los cerros de la ciudad italiana son bien verdes, por lo que estamos hablando de un clima bastante más húmedo que la árida Mendoza (igualmente con suelos favorables para la vitivinicultura, como mencioné previamente).

Hace menos de un año, tan solo unos siete meses, pues yo me encontraba en aquella también mi ciudad, Terni, la que siento muchas veces más mi casa que la tierra en la que nací.

Me quedé 10 días alejada de la ciudad, en un apartamento que se encontraba ya dentro de uno de los cerros, por lo que hacía largas caminatas o bien tomaba algún bus que me llevara hasta el centro, si justo ese día no tenía deseos de caminar demasiado.

En esta publicación les dejo una compilación de imágenes que les darán una idea de lo que ofrece esta ciudad, tanto paisajísticamente en lo urbano y también en las afueras del núcleo de la ciudad.

Es un destino excelente para quienes disfrutan de la naturaleza y buscan pasar algunos días relajados, sin demasiado bullicio. Se imaginarán que contrasta enormemente con Roma, la gran ciudad que a muchas personas termina por apabullar.
