Las Heras in black and white, a series of regional graffiti in the middle of the road | My entry for the MONOMAD challenge

Hello my dear friends of Black and White, in this post I come to share with you some images of a place that is quite close to where I live, to participate in the #monomad challenge of the day.

It is a crossing that was recently built in the department of Las Heras (Mendoza, Argentina) in a place that is in front of what used to be the Walmart (this is now called "Chango Más").

It turns out that it was quite a controversial crossing because they created a bridge for pedestrians, so that they could cross the road and the traffic circle more easily and safely, but the issue was that by doing this, they introduced a structure in the landscape, which has little to do with the architecture of the area. In addition, they altered the image seen of the mountain in the background.

However, they have managed to make this image into something quite beautiful, thanks to some murals that they have painted on what supports these bridges.

Hola mis queridos amigos de Black and White, en esta publicación vengo a compartir con ustedes algunas imágenes de un lugar que queda bastante cerca del lugar donde vivo, para participar del #monomad challenge del día.

Se trata de un cruce que hace muy poco construyeron en el departamento de Las Heras (Mendoza, Argentina) en un lugar que queda frente a lo que antes era el Walmart (esto hoy en día se llama “Chango Más”).

Resulta que fue un cruce bastante polémico porque crearon un puente para peatones, para que pudieran atravesar la ruta y la rotonda con mayor facilidad y seguridad, pero la cuestión fue que al hacer esto, introdujeron una estructura en el paisaje, que poco tiene que ver con la arquitectura de la zona. Además, alteraron la imagen que se veía de la montaña de fondo.

Sin embargo, se han encargado de hacer de esta imagen, algo bastante bello, gracias a unos murales que han pintado en lo que sostiene a estos puentes.

I tried to take pictures of most of them, but I didn't manage to take them all because the images are seen driving, and it is a very busy road and traffic circle. In fact, as I mentioned, it was made to prevent pedestrians from walking there.

However, I took some interesting pictures, where you will not only see these paintings, but also a large part of the structure mentioned.

The flag of Argentina next to the sign that says "Ls Heras, is a jewel of the place, since many times, when you go in the east-west direction, you can see the flag waving incessantly, with the landscape in the background, which is a relic. Of course, it must be windy enough to do so, which is not too frequent in Mendoza.

Intenté tomar fotos de la mayoría, pero no alcancé a sacar de todos debido a que las imágenes se ven manejando, y es una ruta y una rotonda sumamente transitada. De hecho como comentaba, la hicieron para evitar que los peatones caminen por allí.

Sin embargo, hice unas capturas interesantes, en donde no solo verán estas pinturas, sino también gran parte de la estructura mencionada.

La bandera de Argentina al lado del cartel que dice “Ls Heras, es una joya del lugar, ya que muchas veces, cuando uno se dirige en dirección este-oeste, puede ver flamear la bandera de manera incesante, con el paisaje ando de fondo, lo cual es una reliquia. Eso sí, debe correr el suficiente viento para ello, cosa que no es demasiado frecuente en Mendoza.

What's on the murals?

There is a predominance of images of native animals such as the choque, the fox or the puma, but beyond that, where I could not access, there are images of heroes or flowers, as you can see in one of my shots, which presents the broom.

All of them are extremely colorful images, which contrast in a very peculiar way with the environment, but I really liked the black and white version because the variety of colors is so vivid, that even in monochromatic version you can see the colorfulness.

¿Qué hay en los murales?

Predominan las imágenes de animales autóctonos como el choque, el zorro o el puma, pero más allá, a donde no pude acceder, hay imágenes de próceres o flores, como pueden ver en una de mis tomas, que presenta a la retama.

Todas ellas son imágenes en extremo coloridas, que contrastan de una manera muy peculiar con el entorno, pero me gustó mucho su versión blanco y negro porque la variedad de colores es tan vívida, que incluso en versión monocromática se puede ver el colorido.
