Follow me on this hike to Les - 1400 masl, Les Gets, France

Summer is approaching in Europe, and my days in Les Gets, which date back no more and no less than last week, today seem more distant than ever.

Maybe my mind wants to leave behind an experience that at the time was like diving into a deep well in which light and shadows alternated; the encounter with myself and the clash with others; the feeling of peace and the need to get out of there; the love for the mountain and the knowledge that this was just not my place.

Está acercándose el verano en Europa, y mis días en Les Gets, que se remontan ni más ni menos a la semana pasada, hoy parecen más lejanos que nunca.

Será que mi mente quiere dejar atrás una experiencia que en su momento fue como sumergirse en un profundo pozo en el cual se alternaban la luz y las sombras; el encuentro conmigo y el choque con los demás; la sesación de paz y la necesidad de salir de allí; el amor por la montaña y el saber que ese justo no era mi lugar.

Although the dualities became more present and evident than ever, I always knew that I was there for something, so I decided to accept, but looking for a way to move on to another stage of the road. Soon I will tell a little more about my present, but there is still much that Les Gets left me, that deserves to be told, because today, all of that, is already part of me.

As you know, my moments of light were very much represented by the walks, as they were my disconnection from the reality I was in, to connect with my inner self, with what really needed to be expressed, beyond the daily tasks.

In this case you are looking at a walk I took "around the corner from home". I say on the way back because I had to walk about 200 meters from my house to then start ascending towards a place that was behind Rocade, my chalet, but in height. This place is called Les Platons.

Aunque las dualidades se hicieron más presentes y evidentes que nunca, siempre super que estaba allí por algo, así que decidí aceptar, pero buscando la manera de avanzar hacia otra etapa del camino. En breve contaré un poco más sobre mi presente, pero hay todavía mucho que me dejó Les Gets, que merece ser contado, pues hoy, todo aquello, ya es parte de mí.

Como saben, mis momentos de luz estuvieron muy representados por las caminatas, ya que eran mi desconexión de la realidad en la que estaba, para conectarme con mi interior, con lo que de verdad necesitaba expresarse, más allá de las tareas cotidianas.

En este caso están viendo una caminata que realicé “a la vuelta de casa”. Digo a la vuelta porque tuve que caminar unos 200 metros desde mi casa para luego empezar a ascender hacia un sitio que quedaba detrás de Rocade, mi chalet, pero en altura. Este lugar se llamas Les Platons.

The hike up there is beautiful, and I was blessed that the day was beautiful for the experience. It was not too cold and the sky was almost completely clear.

Also, on the way back, I was met with the sunset. A play of pink colors highlighted the ski slope where a children's competition was about to take place.

Prior to that, I had a magical encounter with a leopard-like sky, where the clouds looked like spots in the sky.

La caminata hasta allí es preciosa, y tuve la bendición de que el día estuviese bellísimo para esa experiencia. No hacía demasiado frío y el cielo estaba casi por completo despejado.

Además, al regresar, me encontré con el atardecer. Un juego de colores rosados que resaltaban la pista de esquí en donde estaba a punto de llevarse a cabo una competencia de niños.

Previo a eso, había tenido un mágico encuentro con un cielo que parecía un leopardo, en donde las nubes parecían manchas en el cielo.

The trail to Les Platons is beautiful, only that while walking I came across something that I saw too much in this region of France, and that is the machinery in full construction.

El sendero a Les Platons es precioso, solo que mientras caminaba me encontré con algo que vi demasiado en esta región de Francia, y son las maquinarias en plena construcción.

It seems that there is too much mountain to stop urban sprawl, but that's how it all starts, until one day nature cries out for them to stop. I hope there will be a good regulation to protect those magical pine trees of Les Gets.

Today I leave you these images with my full gratitude for that first work experience in Europe, which was also my first experience living in the middle of the mountains in the middle of the European winter.

Pareciera que hay mucha montaña para detener la expansión urbana, pero así empieza todo, hasta que un día la naturaleza pide a gritos que se detengan. Espero que haya una buena regulación que proteja aquellos mágicos pinos de Les Gets.
