Fly over Buenos Aires with me: black and white aerial photography : MONOMAD Challegne

Hello my dear friends of Liketu and Black and White community! It's a pleasure to be here one more day in this #monomad challenge. This time I bring you some pictures I took on the Mendoza - Buenos Aires flight a few weeks ago.

Aerial photographs are one of my favorites, and although choosing the window limits us a bit because it is not so easy to go to the bathroom of the aircraft if there is a need, it is my favorite place.

For me there is a unique magic in the sky, in the clouds, in the sun, in the cities when the plane is moving away from the earth's surface and when it is about to land.

This can be seen very well on the internet, today with the expansion of satellite imagery we have infinite access to virtually any corner of the world. The use and diffusion of drones as a resource to take pictures and videos, also allows us to enjoy these scenarios that seem to be surreal, when it is the very Planet Earth from another perspective.

However, having worked for years with satellite images for my former job in the office of Land Management of Guaymallén, I can say that there is no comparison between observing the image and living the feeling of taking the pictures with your own hands and finding the best angle with the eye of the photographer.

For some of you this may be obvious (it is for me too), but I know many people who do not find the slightest pleasure in observing the landscape from the air. There are those who feel vertigo and there are those who are indifferent to this experience. This is clearly not my case.

You can see then, in these images, the city of Buenos Aires. I took the pictures near the landing and was surprised to see the Rio de la Plata from the plane. Of course... in order to land, going from west (Mendoza) to east (Buenos Aires - Aeroparque), the aircraft has to make a turn in order to touch down. Very logical, but I had never paid attention to this.

So here is a nice selection of photos. I took a lot of them, but these are the 10 best ones. It turns out that the flight left at 6 am, and when we landed, the sun wasn't strong enough yet to provide more light. Still, the scenery is very nice.

Hola mis queridos amigos de Liketu y de Black and White community! Es un placer estar un día más por aquí en este #monomad challenge. En esta ocasión les traigo unas fotos que tomé en el vuelo Mendoza - Buenos Aires hace unas semanas atrás.

Las fotografías aéreas son unas de mis preferidas, y aunque elegir la ventanilla nos limita un poco porque no es tan sencillo ir al baño de la aeronave si hay necesidad, pues es mi lugar preferido.

Para mí hay una magia única en el cielo, en las nubes, en el sol, en las ciudades cuando el avión se va alejando de la superficie terrestre y cuando está a punto de aterrizar.

Esto puede verse muy bien en internet, hoy en día con la expansión de las imágenes satelitales tenemos acceso infinito a prácticamente cualquier rincón del mundo. El uso y difusión de los drones como recurso para tomar fotografías y videos, también nos permite disfrutar de estos escenarios que parecen ser surrealistas, cuando es el mismísimo Planeta Tierra desde otra perspectiva.

Sin embargo, habiendo trabajado durante años con imágenes satelitales por mi antiguo trabajo en la oficina de Ordenamiento Territorial de Guaymallén, puedo decir que no existe comparación entre observar la imagen a vivir la sensación de estar tomando las fotos con las propias manos y de estar encontrando el mejor ángulo con el ojo del fotógrafo.

Para alguno de ustedes esto puede ser evidente (para mí también lo es), pero conozco a muchas personas que no le encuentran ni la más mínima gracia a observar el paisaje desde el aire. Hay quienes sienten vértigo y están quienes son indiferentes a esta experiencia. Claramente no es mi caso.

Pueden ver entonces, en estas imágenes, a la ciudad de Buenos Aires. Tomé las fotos cerca del aterrizaje y me sorprendí de ver el Río de la Plata desde el avión. Claro… para poder aterrizar, yendo de oeste (Mendoza) a este (Buenos Aires - Aeroparque), la aeronave tiene que hacer un giro para poder tocar tierra firme. Muy lógico, pero nunca había prestado atención a esto.

Así que aquí tienen una buena selección de fotos. Saqué muchísimas, pero estas son las 10 mejores. Resulta que el vuelo salió a las 6 am, y al aterrizar, el sol no era lo suficientemente potente aún como para brindar más luz. Igualmente, el paisaje es muy bonito.
