Come to Mendoza: once again, it shines with the Foundational Area, wonderful Argentina
Hello my dear friends of Pinmapple, once again I am here to share with you a bit of a splendid place, and that is my beloved Mendoza, especially the foundational area of the province, where the Plaza Pedro del Castillo is currently located.
This sector is one of the most striking of the urban area, since it is literally where the city of Mendoza was founded, and from there began a process of urban expansion that has not shown rest since 1561, when Pedro del Castillo gave start to what today has become a Metropolis and the largest city in the country.
Pedro del Castillo Square is one of those places that anyone who passes by at any time of the day will fall in love with.
It has the particularity of being at the beginning of the geomorphological depression, which extends to the west, captures the rays of the sun in the mornings and afternoons offering a beautiful urban landscape, with the Cacique Guaymallén channel to the east and the Jesuit Ruins to the west.

In the square, you can see different species of trees and quite large areas, with alternating fountains, which invite you to stop in the place to contemplate both standing, or sitting on one of the benches that have been neatly arranged in place for visitors.
The square also has a museum in it. Many years ago, when I was studying the subject "Urban Geography" of the career of Professional Geographer, we were taken to this square to analyze the location of the same one in relation to the urban plot so much of the present time as of the epoch; and it is that before, when the project that would turn Mendoza into what it is today was just begun, the custom was to construct a square and around to place some building destined to the administration, an Englishwoman and occasionally some place of recreation like a theater or a school.
In that place, the cradle of the city, today much of that has been lost, especially because the area was severely affected by the earthquake of 1861, which practically collapsed the entire city. This led to the slow relocation of urban functions and services, while the province and its inhabitants recovered from the violent episode.
Notwithstanding the above, this square continues (and will continue) to be a provincial emblem because, as I already mentioned, it is from here that the famous Mendoza left.
Nowadays many people go there to take pictures and it is a very famous place for the bride and groom, since they use to go to this place with professional photographers to freeze some moments after getting married in church, on their wedding night.
It is important to mention that all this space has been built higher, since the city is originally a few meters down. The true foundational area is currently a sediment, which can be seen upon entering the museum.
I took these photos at about 9 am a couple of weeks ago, because I was driving by and saw the beautiful plaza. I didn't hesitate to pull over and photograph it for you folks.
