Watching the sunset from the Gonzalo de Ocampo Bridge (Eng -Esp)
Hello fellow travelers, I hope you're having a wonderful day with your loved ones. Last week, my son and I were running errands, and on one of them, we decided to stop and visit the Gonzalo de Ocampo Bridge. We've passed by it many times, but this time we decided to stop and admire the bridge and the beautiful sunset. The bridge is located on the Arístides Rojas perimeter avenue, over the Manzanares River, and connects with the area known as "La Boca," where the sea and the river meet. The bridge has a simple design, with yellow walls in the center and on the sides. Iron railings with circular tubes are on top of the walls. The other side of the bridge connects to the municipal market and the Las Palomas neighborhood. The passenger terminal and the El Dique neighborhood are very close by, and it also serves as a river transport route for fishermen who regularly travel in their boats to the distribution points for fresh fish. As I mentioned before, the bridge is simple, but in the late afternoon and at dawn, it offers a truly special experience. A beautiful view of the river and urban landscape unfolds, the sun's rays striking the water and creating a stunning mirror effect. Houses line the riverbanks, and a few businesses process seafood.
The cluster of houses on the riverbank is known as a fishing village. Our visit was around 5:30 in the afternoon, and the sun's rays reflected off the water on the side facing the river mouth. On the opposite side, the tranquil river flows, surrounded by a thick layer of vegetation on both sides. The waterway resembles a beautiful blue path, adorned with a green carpet of aquatic plants and edible crops that thrive along its banks.
Hola amigos viajeros, deseo que tengan un excelente día en unión de sus seres queridos, la semana pasada estuve realizando varias diligencias con mi hijo y en una de ellas decidimos hacer una pausa para visitar el puente Gonzalo de Ocampo, en muchas ocasiones hemos pasado por allí, pero en esta ocasión decimos detenernos a observar el puente y el hermoso paisaje al atardecer, el puente se ubica en la avenida perimetral Arístides Rojas, sobre el río Manzanares y converge con el sector La boca, donde se unen el mar y el río, el puente tiene un diseño sencillo, con muros de color amarillo en el centro y los laterales, encima de los muros hay barandas de hierro con tubos circulares, el otro lado del puente se comunica con el mercado municipal y el sector las palomas, muy cerca se ubica el terminal de pasajeros, el sector el Dique y constituye además una ruta de transporte fluvial para los pescadores quienes regularmente en sus botes se trasladan hacia los puntos donde se distribuye el pescado fresco, como lo mencioné anteriormente, el puente es sencillo, pero en horas de la tarde y el amanecer ofrece una hermosa vista del paisaje fluvial y urbano, los rayos del sol inciden en el agua creando un hermoso efecto de espejo, también las casas a los lados del río y algunas empresas que procesan productos del mar.
El conjunto de casas, en la margen del río conoce como aldea de pescadores, nuestra visita fue aproximadamente a las 5:30 de la tarde y los rayos del sol se reflejaban en el agua, en la parte que da hacia el sector la boca, en el lado contrario se observa el río tranquilo y una gran capa vegetal que lo rodea por ambos lados, el curso de agua parece un hermoso camino azul, decorado con una alfombra verde, formada por las plantas acuáticas y algunos rubros comestibles que prosperan en la orilla del río.
If you visit this bridge, located on one of the city's busiest avenues, you'll have the opportunity to observe two completely different landscapes. Toward the river mouth, there's a beautiful scenery that combines palm trees, other trees, small houses (a fishing village), various buildings belonging to seafood processing companies, and a stunning view backlit by the sun. The afternoon is my favorite time to visit because of the enchanting landscape. From this area to the river mouth, there's a long stretch of the river before it finally meets the sea.
During the journey you can see the boat terminal, the office of the ferries that go to Margarita and other water transports that go to other municipalities of the state, including Cruz Salmerón Acosta, with the famous Palita (a kind of ferry, but smaller), also in this area there is a well known and busy fish market, where the locals go to buy fresh fish when the boats first arrive, the sunset view is one of my favorites, the sun reflects on the water giving it a beautiful bright color, which is relaxing and I personally really like to enjoy sunsets, each one is a natural spectacle that the Creator gives us daily; While taking the photographs, I noticed several people bathing in the river. The boats were already anchored in their resting place. Our plan was to watch the boats navigate the river. I think we arrived too late; I've regularly seen them pass through this stretch of the river in the morning. Although we didn't see the boats sailing, we enjoyed observing the beautiful sunset and the tranquility of the Manzanares River. In the next photograph, you can see some of the company structures, the anchored boats, and a boat adrift at the river's edge. The water is like a large mirror reflecting the trees and buildings. As evening fell, the sky turned yellow, white, and brown, giving way to night. Below, you can see the sun setting, and in the center, a yellow light emitting its last flashes to bid farewell until a new and bright day.
Si visitas este puente enclavado en una de las avenidas más transitada de la ciudad, tienes la oportunidad de observar dos paisajes totalmente diferentes, hacia el lado de la Boca del río, hay un hermoso paisaje que combina palmeras, árboles, pequeñas casas (aldea de pescadores), varias construcciones de las empresas que procesan productos del mar y una hermosa vista a contraluz con el sol, el horario de la tarde es mi favorito para visitarlo, por el encantador el paisaje, desde esta zona hasta la Boca, hay un gran tramo del río hasta finalmente unirse con el mar.
Durante el trayecto puedes observar el terminal de los botes, la oficina de los ferri que van hacia Margarita y otros transportes acuáticos que se dirigen hacia otros municipios del estado entre ellos el Cruz salmerón Acosta, con la famosa Palita (una especie de ferry, pero más pequeño), también por esta zona se ubica una venta de pescado muy conocida y concurrida, donde la población asiste para comprar pescado fresco cuando los botes recién llegan al lugar, la vista del atardecer es de mis favoritas, el sol se refleja en el agua dándole un lindo color brillante, lo cual es relajante y en lo personal me gusta mucho disfrutar de los atardeceres, cada uno es un espectáculo natural que diariamente el Creador nos regala; mientras tomaba las fotografías observé que habían varias personas bañándose en el río, los botes ya estaban anclados en su lugar de descanso, nuestro plan era ver los botes navegar por el río, creo que fuimos muy tarde, regularmente los he visto pasar por este tramo del río en horas de la mañana, aunque no vimos los botes navegar, observar el hermoso atardecer y la tranquilidad de las aguas del río Manzanares, en la siguiente fotografía, se observa parte de las estructuras de las empresas, los botes anclados y uno a la deriva, ubicado en el límite del río y el mar, el agua como un gran espejo para los árboles y construcciones que se reflejan en ella, ya con la caída de la tarde el cielo se tornó de color amarillo, blanco y marrón, para dar paso a la noche, a continuación se observa el sol ocultándose y en el centro un foco de luz amarilla que emite los últimos destellos para despedirse hasta un nuevo y brillante día.
On the other side of the bridge, we have a beautiful view of the city, abundant vegetation, and the constant traffic, as this is one of the city's most important thoroughfares, leading to various points. From this side, the sun's rays aren't very strong; the sky is light blue with plenty of clouds. Then there's a panoramic view of the river, showcasing the vegetation present in the ecosystem, including banana plants, the verdant canopy covering the riverbanks (which I particularly liked), and several of the residences located in this area.
The last image shows the vegetation layer closer and a beautiful riverside path, joining the section that passes through the city center. I hadn't noticed it during my visit, but in this photo you can see a boat. Honestly, when we were up there I didn't see it, but while I was making the post I could see that there is indeed a small boat on the river, so our plan wasn't a complete failure regarding spotting the boats crossing the waterway, because at least we saw one boat in the photo. The plan was to see it in person as close as possible, I hope we can do it again next time. These two landscapes are very beautiful; one reflects the tranquility and calm of the river in a space that combines nature, urbanism, and large buildings, towards the city center. The other shows the island landscape of the region, the incidence of the sun's rays, and the presence of the sea, a characteristic element of Cumaná's long coast. As night fell, we walked to the bus stop and waited for transportation to return home. It was a lovely adventure to have visited this bridge and observed the beautiful landscapes it offers on each of its sides.
Del otro lado del puente, tenemos una hermosa vista de la ciudad, abundante vegetación y el tráfico vehicular que es constante aquí, pues es una de las arterias viales más importantes de la ciudad, que conduce a varios puntos; de este lado no se aprecia mucho la incidencia de los rayos solares, el cielo se ve azul claro y con abundantes nubes, luego una panorámica del río en la cual se aprecia la vegetación presente en el ecosistema, entre ellas se ven unas plantas de cambur, el manto vegetal que cubre los bordes del río, que por cierto me gustó mucho y varias de las residencias ubicadas por esta zona.
En la última imagen se detalla se detalla la capa vegetal más cerca y un hermoso sendero de el río, para unirse al tramo que pasa por el centro de la ciudad, al momento de mi visita no lo había notado, pero en esta foto se alcanza a ver un bote, sinceramente cuando estábamos en la parte de arriba no lo vi, pero mientras hacía la publicación pude observar que efectivamente hay un pequeño bote en el curso del río, así que nuestro plan no fue totalmente fallido respecto a avistar los botes cruzando el curso de agua, porque al menos vimos un bote en la foto, el plan era verlo en el lugar lo más cerca posible, espero en una nueva oportunidad pueda darse; estos dos paisajes son muy bonitos, uno refleja la tranquilidad y calma del río en un espacio que combina naturaleza urbanismo y grandes edificios, hacia el centro de la ciudad, el anterior muestra el paisaje insular de la entidad, la incidencia de los rayos solares y la presencia del mar, elemento característico en la larga costa de Cumaná, al caer la noche avanzamos hacia la parada y esperamos el transporte para regresar a casa, fue una linda aventura haber visitado este puente y observar los hermosos paisajes que ofrece a cada uno de sus lados.

Desde este puente las vistas son increíbles, ofrece dos pasajes opuestos, uno hacia el sector la Boca, con la presencia del mar y el otro una combinación del entorno urbano con la naturaleza, fue una linda experiencia visitar el puente y ver el atardecer.
