Sunset walk in the Los Mangles area, Perimetral Avenue (Eng - Esp)
Continuing my tour along Cumaná’s coastal promenade and Cacique Maragüey Avenue, I’d like to share my visit to the Los Mangles area. Beyond just a relaxing walk, my son and I were able to enjoy the beautiful sunset and the transition into nightfall. This area is notable for its stunning seascapes that blend with the urban environment, creating a pleasant space for people of all ages to enjoy.
In the late afternoon, it is common to see people exercising by the water's edge; the sunset in this part of the city is truly lovely—one of my personal favorites. I have really liked this area since I first visited, especially the sunsets, as the view from here offers a partial glimpse of the Araya Peninsula and the vast coastline washed by the Caribbean Sea. Our walk followed the rocky path and the designated walkways in the area; these concrete paths run parallel to the sea, separated from the water by a distance of about two meters. In addition to this path, there is another one located closer to the avenue, featuring cylindrical blue walls. Several residential complexes—specifically those in the Los Mangles sector—line this stretch, standing out thanks to the striking, colorful lines adorning the apartment buildings.
Continuando mi recorrido por la cinta costera de Cumaná y la avenida Cacique Maragüey, les comparto mi visita al sector Los Mangles, donde además de una relajante caminata, en compañía de mi hijo pudimos disfrutar la hermosa vista del atardecer y la llegada de la noche, este sector destaca por las hermosas vistas del paisaje marino, que se combina con el entorno urbano, creando un agradable espacio para el disfrute de grandes y pequeños.
En horas de la tarde, es común observar personas realizando ejercicios a la orilla del mar, el atardecer en esta zona de la ciudad es realmente muy bonito y uno de mis favoritos, desde que visité esta parte de la ciudad me gustó mucho y especialmente los atardeceres, desde aquí se observa parcialmente la península de Araya y la extensa costa bañada por el Mar Caribe; nuestra caminata se realizó siguiendo el sendero de la rocas y las caminerías dispuestas en el área, las cuales son de concreto y están separadas del mar a una distancia aproximada de 2 metros, además de esta hay otra ubicada muy cerca de la avenida, con muros cilíndricos de color azul, a lo largo de esta franja se ubican varios conjuntos residenciales, específicamente los del sector Los Mangles, destacan por sus llamativas líneas coloridas en una serie de apartamentos.
My favorite part of this tour was the sunset view; I loved the colors in the sky and their contrast with the sea. 🌊 Along the coastline, one can see incredible scenes painted by the beautiful colors of the setting sun. On the avenue, the apartment buildings stand out with their striking colorful lines—a distinctive feature that makes them recognizable from afar, as the vibrant hues create a beautiful visual effect. There are also larger structures, including residential complexes, hotels, university campuses, offices, and commercial establishments.
In the next photograph, we get a close-up view of the Los Mangles buildings and their eye-catching lines. Another group of apartments stands out due to the varied, square-shaped color patterns covering their facades. Since night had already fallen, the avenue lights and traffic signals are visible, along with a beautiful view of the sky holding the sun's final glimmers. At the bottom, an orange line appears, followed by a blue one and various red bands distributed across the expanse, creating a stunning coastal landscape. Next, we see a close-up of the apartments and a gray building that stands out for its size and turquoise glass windows.
Mi parte favorita en este recorrido, fue la vista del atardecer, los colores en el cielo me gustaron y su contraste con el mar, 🌊 a lo largo de la franja costera se observan increíbles imágenes pintadas por los hermosos colores durante el ocaso del sol, en la avenida se ven los apartamentos y sus llamativas líneas coloridas, esta es una de las características resaltantes en estos edificios, que permite identificarlos desde lejos por sus vibrantes colores que crean un hermoso efecto visual, también hay otros edificios más grandes que corresponden a conjuntos residenciales, hoteles, sedes de universidades, oficinas y establecimientos comerciales.
En la siguiente fotografía vemos de cerca los edificios de Los Mangles y sus llamativas líneas, el otro grupo de apartamento destaca por sus variados colores en forma cuadrada que cubren las paredes de estos apartamentos, como ya había caído la noche se observan las luces de la avenida, los semáforos y una hermosa vista del cielo con los últimos destellos del sol, en la parte inferior se observa una línea naranja seguida por una de color azul y diferentes franjas de color rojo distribuidas en el espacio sideral creando un hermoso paisaje en la franja costera, a continuación vemos de cerca los apartamentos y un edificio de color gris que destaca por su tamaño y ventanas de cristal en color turquesa.
Continuing our tour, we arrived at the "Coctelitos" area, a spot offering a view of the sunset and the silhouettes of the buildings against the light, along with glimmers reflecting off the avenue and cylindrical walls. There is also a beautiful view of the beach with the Araya Peninsula in the background. Next, we viewed the other apartments, which stand out for their colorful squares; both the perimeter walls and the apartment facades feature squares in various colors—orange, green, red, blue, and yellow—a pattern repeated across all the blocks in this residential complex. This aspect of the apartments caught my eye: some feature thin, multicolored lines, while others display vibrant colored squares, giving the buildings a unique look. Their striking colors create a lovely visual effect and a style quite distinct from other residential complexes in the area.
The sunset in this part of the city is truly spectacular and perfect for connecting with nature. In the final photo, we see a traffic light near a cross-street that leads to the Los Chaimas sector, located behind the colorful apartments. After our tour and a close-up look at these striking buildings, we headed toward Los Chaimas to visit the shopping center and enjoy a delicious pizza. Without a doubt, Cumaná’s coastline offers beautiful scenery for lovers of seascapes and sunsets; it was a wonderful outing, especially thanks to the incredible sunset views visible from this part of the city.
Continuando con nuestro recorrido llegamos hasta la zona de los coctelitos desde allí se observa el ocaso del sol y la figura de estos a contraluz, además algunos destellos reflejados en la avenida y los muros cilíndricos, también una hermosa vista de la playa y al fondo la península de Araya, seguidamente tenemos una vista de los otros apartamentos, que destacan por sus cuadrados de colores, la pared perimetral así como las paredes frontales de los apartamentos están pintadas con cuadrados de diferentes colores entre ellos; naranja, verde, rojo, azul y amarillo este patrón se repite en todos los bloques que integran que este conjunto residencial, me llamó la atención este aspecto de los apartamentos, los primeros tienen delgadas líneas de variados colores y los siguientes son cuadrados con vibrantes colores que le dan un aspecto muy diferente a estos edificios, sus llamativos colores crean un efecto visual muy bonito, además un estilo muy diferente en comparación con los otros conjuntos residenciales ubicados en esta zona.
Definitivamente el atardecer en esta zona de la ciudad es espectacular y perfecto para conectar con la naturaleza, en la última fotografía vemos el semáforo y muy cerca de él se ubica una transversal que conduce al sector Los Chaimas, ubicado detrás de los coloridos apartamentos, luego de nuestro recorrido y ver de cerca estos llamativos apartamentos, nos dirigimos hacia el sector Los Chaimas con la idea de visitar el centro comercial y disfrutar una deliciosa pizza; la franja costera de Cumaná, sin duda alguna, ofrece hermosas imágenes para quienes aman los paisajes marinos y los atardeceres, fue un hermoso recorrido especialmente por las increíbles postales del atardecer que se aprecian desde esta zona de la ciudad.
