Phone Photography Contest N° 61; Sanctuary of Our Lady of Altagracia (Eng - Esp)
Hello photography-loving friends and the @feelgood community, I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your loved ones. This is my entry for the phone photography contest moderated by @untilwelearn. Last week, on my way back from work, I stopped by the city center to run some errands and visit the Nuestra Señora de Altagracia Church. It's located on Mariño Street, where it meets the commercial establishments and shops. I've been going to this area of the city for several months to see the inside of the church, but it hasn't been possible yet because I haven't been able to see it during the service schedule.
I like this church for its trapezoid design, which is very striking and unique in the city. It is completely different from the traditional design, which consists of a rectangular building with a triangular roof and a tower at the side. The Altagracia Sanctuary has a beautiful facade, the identification wall with its gold lettering, the main door in the center, the windows on the sides, and the respective gardens, with beautiful flowers that adorn the building. It also has a perimeter fence and white railings. On one side of the gardens there is a white concrete cross, as well as a wide staircase that leads from the railing to the main door.
The church is light yellow with white, the roof is gray, and on the right side you can see the offices and cubicles where they offer customer service, community services, and pastoral guidance. The building is located on a corner and meets Mariño Avenue and Buena Vista Street, in the heart of the city.
Hola amigos amantes de la fotografía y comunidad @feelgood, deseo que tengan un excelente fin de semana en unión de sus seres queridos, esta es mi entrada para el concurso de fotografía telefónica moderado por @untilwelearn, la semana pasada cuando regresaba de mi trabajo pasé por el centro de la ciudad para hacer algunas diligencias y visitar la iglesia nuestra señora de Altagracia, ya que se encuentra en la calle Mariño, donde converge con los establecimientos comerciales y tiendas, desde hace varios meses he ido a esta zona de la ciudad para conocer el interior de la iglesia y aún no ha sido posible, no he coincidido con el horario de los servicios.
Esta iglesia me gusta por su diseño en forma de trapecio, que es muy llamativo y único en la ciudad, es totalmente diferente al diseño tradicional, que consiste en una construcción rectangular con el techo en forma de triángulo y la torre al lado, El santuario Altagracia tiene una linda fachada, el muro de identificación con sus letras doradas, la puerta principal en el centro, las ventanas a los lados y los respectivos jardines, con lindas flores que adornan el edificio, cuenta además con una cerca perimetral y rejas de color blanco, a un lado de los jardines hay una cruz de concreto en color blanco, además una amplia escalera que va desde la reja hasta la puerta principal.
La iglesia es de color amarillo claro con blanco el techO de color gris y en el lateral derecho se observan las oficinas y cubículos dónde ofrecen atención al público, las comunidades y orientación pastoral, el edificio se ubica en una esquina y converge con la avenida Mariño y la calle Buena vista, en pleno centro de la ciudad
The tower or bell tower has a peculiar design. At the back there is a horizontal wall with several rectangular windows and in front a triangular column, which has windows on both sides similar to those of the back wall, with white bars. According to information from a resident, this church is of German inspiration and the tower where the bell tower is located is a modern and unique design in the city that combines different styles.
It is one of the churches that I have yet to visit in the city, and its design and trapezoid-shaped façade have always caught my attention, with a rectangle in the center where the main door is located. I hope to soon be able to coincide with the schedule and visit this striking church. The city of Cumaná, being the first city founded by the conquistadors on the mainland, has several temples. These have varied designs, some traditional with a colonial-style influence, and others, such as San Vicente la Altagracia and Santa Rosa, which stand out for their more modern designs adapted to urban centers.
La torre o campanario tiene un diseño peculiar en la parte posterior se encuentra un muro horizontal con varias ventanas rectangulares y al frente una columna en forma triangular, la cual tiene a ambos lados ventanas similares a las del muro posterior, con rejas de color blanco, según información de un residente, esta iglesia es de inspiración alemana y la torre donde se ubica el campanario, es un diseño moderno y único en la ciudad que combina diferentes estilos.
Es una de las iglesias que me falta por conocer en la ciudad y siempre me ha llamado la atención por diseño y la fachada que tiene forma de trapecio y en el centro un rectángulo donde se ubica la puerta principal, espero muy pronto poder coincidir con los horarios y visitar esta llamativa iglesia; la ciudad de Cumaná al ser la primera fundada por los conquistadores en tierra firme cuenta con varios templos, estos tienen variados diseños, algunos tradicionales con influencia del estilo colonial y otros como la San Vicente la Altagracia y la Santa Rosa que destacan por sus diseños más modernos aadaptados alos centros urbanos.
