New tour of the Cumaná 500 years monument, to observe the seascape (Eng - Esp)
The days in the city have been very hot, and my son and I have made several trips looking for places to cool off. The 500th Anniversary Monument has been one of them, as it has a viewpoint and spaces to sit, walk, and even exercise while admiring the beauty of the sea. Our visit to this place had a clear objective: to find an area where we could sit, relax, and enjoy the cool evening breeze while taking in the seascape.
This monument is located on Avenida Cristóbal Colón, on the coastal strip and the national highway towards Carúpano. In the afternoon, it's busy; many people come to walk, relax, admire the scenery, walk their pets, exercise, or simply stroll along the seashore. The scenery is beautiful, and the breeze is perfect for cooling off after a hot day. On the day of our visit, the sun wasn't shining much, so we took advantage of the opportunity to sit under a bush and breathe in the fresh air.
Next to the 500th Anniversary Monument, the phrase "I ♥️ Cumaná" is displayed on an oval staircase with three sections, painted in yellow, blue, and red, forming lines and stripes that give it a fresh style in keeping with the seascape. Below this, one of the sculptures that make up the 500th Anniversary Monument can be seen, along with the dark blue wall of the viewpoint and a rear view of the "I ♥️ Cumaná" sign. These elements combine several blue stripes, a red heart, and the first phrase in white.
Next are two of the sculptures from the 500th Anniversary Monument of Cumaná, the viewpoint benches, and their oval shape. The bases of the sculptures are circular at the sides and square in the center. They are white, and at each end are gray plaques. Something I hadn't noticed about this monument is the strip of blue stars on the second step; there are eight stars representing those that appear on the national flag, specifically on the blue stripe. In a more complete shot, you can see the three figures of the 500 Years Monument. In one of them, there are three people, one in the back and the other two at the bottom, one on each side. You can also see part of the circular base. Then we have the central figure, which is a person raising a kind of crown, and in the last one, a person sitting at the top of the column with their arm outstretched. Here you can see the sea again, and in the background, the Araya Peninsula.
Los días en la ciudad han estado muy calurosos y en compañía de mi hijo hemos hecho varias salidas buscando zonas para refrescarnos, el monumento 500 años ha sido una de ellas, pues cuenta con un mirador y espacios para sentarse, caminar, si prefieres también hacer ejercicios mientras observas la belleza del mar, nuestra visita a este lugar tenía un objetivo, claro buscar un área donde pudiésemos sentarnos, relajarnos y disfrutar la fresca brisa vespertina mientras observábamos el paisaje marino.
Este monumento se ubica en la avenida Cristóbal Colón, en la llamada cinta costera y la carretera nacional hacia Carúpano, en horas de la tarde es concurrido, muchas personas asisten para caminar, relajarse observar el paisaje, pasear las mascotas hacer ejercicios o sencillamente hacer una caminata por la orilla del mar, el paisaje es bonito y la brisa perfecta para refrescarse después en los días calurosos, el día de nuestra visita había poco sol, así que aprovechamos para sentarnos debajo de un arbusto y respirar aire fresco.
Al lado del monumento 500 años, se ubica la frase "Yo ♥️ Cumaná" tienen como base una escalera ovalada formada por tres tramos, los cuales están pintados en los colores amarillo azul y rojo, formando líneas y franjas que le dan un estilo fresco acorde con el paisaje marino, a continuación se observa una de las esculturas que integran el monumento de los 500 años, también el muro del mirador en color azul oscuro y una vista posterior del letrero Yo ♥️Cumaná, estas combinan varias franjas de color azul, el corazón rojo y la primera frase en color blanco.
Luego dos de las esculturas del monumento conmemorativo de los 500 años de Cumaná, los bancos del mirador y su forma ovalada, la base de las esculturas es circular a los lados y cuadrada en el centro, son de color blanco y a cada extremo se ubican unas placas de color gris; algo que no había notado en este monumento es la franja de estrellas azules en el segundo escalón, son ocho estrellas que representan las que aparecen en el pabellón nacional, específicamente en la franja azul, en una toma más completa se observan las tres figuras del monumento 500 años, en una de ellas hay tres personas, una en la parte posterior y las otra están en la parte inferior ubicada una a cada lado, se observa también parte de la base en forma circular, luego tenemos la figura central que es una persona levantando una especie de corona y en la última una persona sentada en la parte superior de la columna con el brazo extendido, aquí se observa nuevamente el mar y al fondo la Península de Araya.
From a partial view of the promenade where the monument is located, you can see the exercise equipment, the lookout point, and the red and yellow stripes that cover this space. During our walk, we saw a very calm dog strolling along the promenade; perhaps it was hot and wanted to take advantage of the evening breeze to relax a bit. After walking along the boulevard, we sat at the lookout point to admire the scenery. The breeze was truly refreshing and relaxing. The wind was strong and whipped up the waves with intensity, which, as they crashed against the rocks, formed a kind of white band.
Next to the lookout point, you can see the dirt path and the rock walkway that borders the area. The ground is made of cement with rectangular patterns. You can also see the Los Mangles sector and several residential buildings. This area is located a few meters from the monument and near the cocktail kiosks, where on weekends they sell a traditional appetizer made with seafood.
En una vista parcial del paseo donde se ubica el monumento, se pueden ver las máquinas de hacer ejercicio, el mirador y las franjas de color rojo y amarillo que cubren este espacio, durante nuestro recorrido pudimos ver un perro muy tranquilo caminando por el paseo, tal vez tenía calor y quiso aprovechar la brisa vespertina para relajarse un poco, luego de recorrer el bulevar nos sentamos en el mirador para observar el paisaje, la brisa estaba realmente fresca y relajante, el viento era fuerte y movía las olas con intensidad, estas al chocar con las rocas formaban una especie de franja blanca.
Al lado del mirador se observa el camino de tierra y la pasarela de rocas que bordea el área, el piso es de cemento con figuras de rectángulos, también se aprecia una vista del sector los Mangles y varios edificios residenciales, este sector se ubica a pocos metros del monumento y cerca de los kioskos de coctelito, donde los fines de semana expenden un tradicional aperitivo elaborado con productos del mar.
The view of the beach is beautiful and one of my favorites. You can see the sand, grassy areas, and the rocks being battered by the waves. There's also a partial view of the 500th Anniversary Monument, the lookout point, and the colorful stripes on the promenade. Some areas have red and yellow lines, while others are yellow and blue, the colors of the national flag.
At sunset, the view becomes even more beautiful, with the lovely colors adorning the sky. The sea looks calm, a beautiful blue, which is very relaxing and something I particularly enjoy. It's a feeling of peace and tranquility that soothes. Returning to the monument, you can see some of the buildings on either side. The dog appears again, strolling along, and you can see the stripes that decorate the pavement of this pedestrian walkway. Visiting these coastal areas of the city is a lovely experience. I particularly enjoy them because they are perfect for relaxing, connecting with nature, and observing the seascape, which is one of my favorites. In this area, there aren't palm trees like in the San Luis sector, but it still has a beautiful charm in a semi-urban setting, with an incredible view of the sea and the coastal strip that stretches for several kilometers along Cristóbal Colón Avenue. After our walk, we went for some delicious ice cream, and as night fell, we headed to the bus stop to catch the transport back home.
La vista de la playa es bonita y una de mis favoritas, se observa la arena, espacios con grama y las rocas siendo golpeada por las olas, también una vista parcial del monumento 500 años, el mirador y las coloridas franjas que tiene el piso de este bulevar, hay áreas con líneas rojas y amarillas en otra zona son amarillas y azul, con los colores de la bandera nacional.
En el atardecer la vista se torna aún más bonita, con los lindos colores que adornan el cielo, el mar se ve tranquilo, de un hermoso color azul, lo cual es muy relajante y particularmente me gusta, es una sensación de paz y tranquilidad que relaja, de vuelta al monumento se observan algunos de los edificios laterales, el perro una vez más aparece paseando y se observan las franjas que adornan el piso de este paseo aeróbico; visitar estos espacios de la zona costera de la ciudad, es una linda experiencia particularmente me gusta porque son perfectos para relajarse, conectar con la naturaleza y observar el paisaje marino, que es uno de mis favoritos, en esta zona no hay palmeras como en el sector San Luis, pero igual tiene un hermoso encanto en un entorno semi urbano, con una increíble vista del mar y la cinta costera que se extiende por varios kilómetros en la avenida Cristóbal Colón luego de nuestro paseo fuimos por unos deliciosos helados y al caer la noche, avanzamos hasta la parada a esperar el transporte para regresar a casa.

Hola bella, la verdad es que ese espacio es muy lindo, uno de los mejores lugares para pasear y sentirse bien, ver el mar y disfrutar de la brisa marina. En el monumento hay mucho ambiente, el deporte es uno de ellos, además de mls coctelitos. Saludos.
