My visit to the Luis Mariano Rivera Athenaeum of Carúpano (Eng - Esp)
Hello traveling friends, it is a pleasure to greet you and wish you a happy day. We are on the second day of April, the dry season is already showing its most relevant characteristics; dry trees, strong winds, intense sun and a lot of heat, which invite you to visit the beach to enjoy a refreshing swim. The state of Sucre has beautiful beaches in the different municipalities. On this occasion, I share with you my visit to the Ateneo de Carúpano. This town is known for its beautiful beaches, varied cuisine, important tourist destinations and is also the capital of the Bermúdez municipality, like the city of Cumaná, it has sites of interest that attract many tourists and visitors throughout the year.
It is considered the most important tourist city in the state of Sucre and in addition to its natural beauty and historical sites, it stands out for its carnival festivities, which are very crowded and known nationally and internationally, it is a warm city, with spectacular places and hotel infrastructure for accommodation and enjoyment of the family, I love this city, as far as possible I visit it on vacation and on several occasions when I have to run errands, every opportunity I take advantage of to visit its outstanding places, on my last trip (whose objective was to run errands), I wanted to visit the athenaeum again, I left very early and after finishing the procedures I went to this large building located between Carabobo Avenue and Cantaura Street, it is a gray building, with panoramic windows and wine curtains.
Hola amigos viajeros, es un placer saludarles deseando que tengan un feliz día, estamos en el segundo día del mes de abril, la temporada de sequía ya muestra sus características más relevantes; árboles secos, fuertes vientos, sol intenso y mucho calor, que invitan a visitar la playa para disfrutar un refrescante baño, el estado Sucre cuenta con hermosas playas en los diferentes municipios, en esta ocasión les comparto mi visita al Ateneo de Carúpano, estapoblación es conocida por sus bellas playas, variada gastronomía, importantes destinos turísticos y es también la capital del municipio Bermúdez, al igual que la ciudad de Cumaná posee sitios de interés que atraen a muchos turistas y visitantes durante todo el año.
Es considerada la ciudad turística más importante del estado Sucre y además de sus belleza naturales y sitios históricos, destaca por las festividades de carnaval, que son muy concurridas y conocida a nivel nacional e internacional, es una ciudad cálida, con espectaculares lugares e infraestructuras hoteleras para el alojamiento y disfrute de la familia, me encanta esta ciudad, en la medida de lo posible la visito en vacaciones y en varias ocasiones cuando debo realizar diligencias, cada oportunidad la aprovecho para visitar sus destacados lugares, en mi último viaje (cuyo objetivo era hacer diligencias), quería visitar nuevamente el ateneo, salí muy temprano y terminados los trámites me dirigí a esta gran edificación ubicada entre la avenida Carabobo y calle Cantaura,es un edificio de color gris, con ventanas panorámicas y cortinas vino.
In the front part it has several photos of Luis Mariano Rivera, in one you can see him playing the cuatro with a musical note in the background and a group of people accompanying him, in the upper part of the main door which is of double sheet and glass, also quite wide there is a Venezuelan flag with the name of the Luis Mariano Rivera athenaeum, also a painting of this outstanding artist and a blue and yellow hummingbird, flying on the top edge, on the sides of the door there are gardens and parking space, then you can see the sides decorated with colorful murals of masks, musical instruments, dance, plastic arts among others, the athenaeum besides housing important sculptures and works of art is a training center for young artists, below the colorful images has black bars and a mosaic on the lower wall formed by ceramic cutouts in shades of gray, brown and black, the decoration with ceramic mosaics extends along the lower edge and covers the contour of the building.
Upon entering the Athenaeum, you walk through a long, wide hallway lined with various paintings by various regional and national artists. There are also exhibition halls with sculptures, utensils, and antique tools. One of the most important and most visited is the sculpture called Los negritos de Cerisola. According to information from the Athenaeum's managers and guides, it was made in Caracas and brought to Carúpano by a well-known family as a gift to the Athenaeum and the residents of Carúpano. The sculpture has been in the Athenaeum for several decades and is very popular with both adults and children, who take the opportunity to take lovely photos with these friendly characters.
En la parte frontal tiene varias fotos de Luis Mariano Rivera, en una se ve tocando el cuatro con una nota musical de fondo y un grupo de personas acompañándolo, en la parte superior de la puerta principal que es de doble hoja y de vidrio, además bastante ancha se encuentra una bandera de Venezuela con el nombre del ateneo Luis Mariano Rivera, también una pintura de este de este destacado artista y un colibrí color azul y amarillo, volando en el borde superior, a los lados de la puerta hay jardines y el espacio para estacionamiento, luego se ven los laterales decorados con coloridos murales de máscaras, instrumentos musicales, baile, artes plásticas entre otros, el ateneo además de albergar importantes esculturas y obras de arte es un centro de formación para los jóvenes artistas, debajo de las coloridas imágenes tiene rejas de color negro y un mosaico en el muro inferior formado por recortes de cerámicas en tonos gris, marrón y negro, la decoración con mosaicos de cerámica se extiende por el borde inferior y cubre el contorno del edificio.
Al entrar al ateneo te desplazas por un largo y amplio pasillo, donde se encuentran ubicados varios cuadros dediferentes artistas artistas regionales y nacionales, también hay salas de exhibiciones con esculturas, utensilios y herramientas antiguos, una de las más importante y visitada que destaca es la escultura denominada Los negritos de Cerisola, de acuerdo a la información de los encargados y guías del ateneo fue elaborada en la ciudad de Caracas y traída a Carúpano por una familia muy conocida en la cuidad, como obsequio para el ateneo y los habitantes de Carúpano, la escultura tiene varias decádas en ateneo y es muy visitada por grandes y chicos, quienes aprovechan para hacer lindas fotos con estos simpáticos personajes.
The day of my visit, the Athenaeum was undergoing maintenance, and I was only able to explore the exterior spaces, which, in my opinion, are very beautiful and colorful, making the building striking. The entrance is also a large area with orange walls, white columns, black railings, and the columns that support the roof also stand out for their vibrant colors: yellow, red, blue, gray, purple, and others. The wooden ceiling is a beautiful brown color and white lamps illuminate the space. The floor is granite, and the space houses the dance and art rooms, as well as the various activities held at the Athenaeum.
It is a very beautiful and warm place, allowing you to experience part of the culture of the state of Sucre, and specifically the Bermúdez municipality. The paintings located in the exhibition hall are beautiful and colorful. The building also stands out for its beautiful and varied paintings with different motifs. Nature, landscapes, artists, and emblematic figures of the state. If you visit Carúpano, the Athenaeum is an incredible destination you can't miss.

El día de mi visita el ateneo estaba en mantenimiento y solo pude explorar los espacios exteriores, que a mi parecer son muy hermosos y coloridos, lo cual hace que el edificio sea llamativo, también la entrada, que es un área amplia con las paredes de color naranja, columnas blancas, rejas negras y las columna que sostienen el techo destacan también por sus vibrantes colores; amarillo rojo, azul, gris morado, entre otros,el techo es de madera con un hermoso color marrón y lámparas de color blanco que iluminan el espacio, el piso es de granito y en espacio se encuentran los salones de danza, arte y las diferentes actividades que se realizan en el ateneo.
Es un lugar muy hermoso y cálido, que te permite conocer parte de la cultura del estado Sucre y específicamente el municipio Bermúdez, los cuadros ubicados en el pasillo de exhibiciones son lindos y coloridos, el edificio resalta también por sus hermosas y variadas pinturas con diferentes motivos; naturaleza, paisajes, artistas y personjes emblemáticos de la entidad, si visitas Carúpano el ateneo es un increíble destino que no te puedes perder,
espero en un futuro cercano volver nuevamente a visitarlo y poder explorar sus espacios interiores.

Saludos @tonyes, que bueno, conociste varios municipios del estado Sucre, playa Medina, es hermosa, sus palmeras y cabañas me encantan, la vista es increíble, Carúpano tiene también hermosas playas como Copey,Uverosy Patilla, solo por mencionar algunas, además cuenta con una de las iglesias más emblemática del estado, entre otros atractivos turísticos.
Cumaná destaca por sus edificaciones coloniales como el castillo San Antonio de la Eminencia y las casas de la calle Sucre.

Greetings @tonyes, how nice! You visited several municipalities in Sucre state. Medina Beach is beautiful. I love its palm trees and cabins, and the view is incredible. Carúpano also has beautiful beaches like Copey, Uveros, and Patilla, just to name a few. It also has one of the state's most iconic churches, among other tourist attractions.
Cumaná stands out for its colonial buildings, such as the San Antonio de la Eminencia Castle and the houses on Sucre Street.
