Hello traveling friends around the world, I wish you an excellent and blessed day, the month of July is about to end, it is incredible how fast the year 2025 is advancing, in my country the school vacation period begins, in which families have the opportunity to visit different tourist destinations for children to travel and enjoy their vacations, it is also an opportunity for the little ones to get to know the different towns, beaches and resorts of the state of Sucre, this is located in the eastern region of Venezuela and has a wide coastal area, it also contains two peninsulas; the Araya Peninsula, visible from Cumaná, the state capital and the Paria Peninsula, I invite you to join me on a beautiful tour of the Araya Peninsula, Cruz Salmerón Acosta municipality.
On this occasion we will be visiting the town of Punta de Arenas, which as its name indicates, is located at the lower end of the peninsula, to get to this beautiful place you can do it by land taking the national highway Cumaná - Carupano and then make a detour at the Cariaco pier, the trip by this route lasts approximately 4 hours, if you like the seascape, you have the option of going to this beautiful town using the boats or tapaitos, which leave from Cumaná, the boat ride is shorter and you arrive at the town of Araya which is the capital of the municipality, already in Araya you take a van that will take you to the aforementioned town, the journey from Araya to Punta Arenas is approximately 40 minutes, on the way to this town you can see beautiful landscapes, such as the Araya salt mine, the different beaches and a spectacular view of the castle of the same name, already in Punta Arenas, you have in front of you a beautiful turquoise beach, I liked it since I saw it, for the color of its waters, I think that as mentioned in the poem "Azul", by the illustrious Cruz Salmerón Acosta, who gives his name to this municipality, found a fascinating inspiration in these beautiful beaches to write this beautiful poem, for which he was well known, in it he describes the beauty and impetuosity of the blue sea, as well as his sadness for not being able to kiss blue eyes, this beach is truly beautiful and without a doubt a great source that inspired the verses of Cruz Salmerón, the striking color invites visitors to bathe in its warm and refreshing waters.
Hola amigos viajeros en todo el mundo les deseo un excelente y bendecido, día está por finalizar el mes de julio, es increíble lo rápido que está avanzando el año 2025, en mi país inicia el período de vacaciones escolares, en el cual las familias tienen la oportunidad de visitar diferentes destinos turístico para que los niños viajen y disfruten sus vacaciones, también es una oportunidad para que los pequeños conozcan los diferentes pueblos, playas y balnearios del estado Sucre, este se ubica en la región oriental de Venezuela y tiene una amplia zona costera, en él también se encuentran dos penínsulas; la península de Araya, visible desde Cumaná, capital del estado y la península de Paria, les invito me acompañen a un hermoso recorrido por la península de Araya, municipio Cruz Salmerón Acosta.
En esta ocasión estaremos visitando la población Punta de arenas, que como su nombre lo indica, se ubica en el extremo inferior de la península, para llegar a este hermoso lugar puedes hacerlo por vía terrestre tomando la carretera nacional Cumaná - Carupano y luego haces un desvío en el muelle de Cariaco, el viaje por esta vía dura aproximadamente 4 horas, si te gusta el paisaje marino, tienes la opción de ir a este hermoso pueblo utilizando los botes o tapaitos, los cuales salen desde Cumaná, el recorrido en bote es más corto y llegas a la población de Araya que es la capital del municipio, ya en Araya se toma una camioneta que te llevará a la población mencionada, el recorrido desde Araya hasta Punta Arenas es de aproximadamente 40 minutos, en el trayecto hacia este pueblo se observan hermosos paisajes, como la salina de Araya, las diferentes playas y una espectacular vista del castillo homónimo, ya en Punta Arenas, tienes al frente una hermosa playa de color turquesa, me gustó desde que la vi por el color de sus aguas, creo que tal como lo menciona el poema "Azul", del ilustre Cruz Salmerón Acosta, quien da nombre a este municipio, encontró una fascinante inspiración en estas lindas playas para escribir este hermoso poema, por el cual fue muy conocido, en él describe la belleza e impetuosidad del mar azul, así como como su trizteza por no poder besar los ojos azules, esta playa es realmente hermosa y sin duda una gran fuente que inpiró los versos de Cruz Salmerón, el color llamativo invita a los visitantes a bañarse en sus cálidas y refrescante aguas.
My visit to this beautiful place was by sea. We arrived at the tapaitos terminal, as the boats that cover this route are called, because they are distinguished from the other boats by their roof. In addition to the tapaitos to go to Araya, you can also choose to travel on the so-called palita, which is a ferry or boat. The journey on this transport takes longer, as it carries people and vehicles, and due to its weight, movement is slower, but it is a great experience because you can see the immensity of the sea and the beautiful mountains that surround it.
Upon arriving at the town of Araya with my friend, we ran several errands and after a short trip we took the truck that would take us to Punta de Arenas, some of her relatives live there and it was the perfect opportunity to visit them, on the way to our destination we passed through the town of Manicuare, which is the birthplace of the poet Cruz Salmerón Acosta and known for its production of handcrafted pots, I would have liked to visit it but due to time reasons it was not possible, we had to get to Punta Arenas as soon as possible to speed up some paperwork that my friend had to do in the company of an aunt, so we would have more time to tour the town, upon arrival we were greeted by her lovely family, kind and attentive people, it was very nice to meet them and share with them.
Mi visita a este hermoso lugar la hice por vía marítima, llegamos al terminal de los tapaitos, como se le llama a los botes que cubren esta ruta, porque se diferencian de los otros botes por el techo que tienen, además de los tapaitos para dirigirte hasta araya también puedes elegir viajar en la llamada palita, que es un ferry o barco, el recorrido en este transporte dura más tiempo, pues allí se trasladan personas, vehículos, y debido al peso que lleva, la movilidad es más lenta, pero es una gran experiencia porque observas la inmensidad del mar y las hermosas montañas que lo rodean.
Al llegar a la población de Araya con mi amiga, hicimos varias diligencias y luego de un pequeño recorrido tomamos la camioneta que nos llevaría a Punta de Arenas, allí viven algunos familiares de ella y era la oportunidad perfecta para visitarlos, en el trayecto hacia nuestro destino pasamos por la población de Manicuare, la cual es la cuna del poeta Cruz Salmerón Acosta y destaca por la producción de vasijas artesanales, me hubiese gustado visitarla pero por motivos de tiempo no fue posible, debíamos llegar lo más pronto a Punta Arenas, para agilizar algunos trámites que mi amiga debía hacer en compañía de una una tía, así tendríamos más tiempo para recorrer el pueblo, al llegar nos recibió su linda familia, unas personas amables y atentas, fue muy lindo conocerlos y compartir con ellos.
We barely had time to eat and we quickly packed our backpacks, then in the company of my friend and her aunt we headed to the place where I had to do the paperwork, on the way I couldn't stop looking at the beach, according to my friend I was enchanted with the beach, it is really beautiful and I liked its color, my restless feet were pushing me towards the beach, at one point without realizing it I stood there watching the beach and when I reacted my friend and her aunt had already advanced several meters, I walked as fast as I could until I reached them and there I understood that I was not supporting my friend and her aunt, so I forgot about the beach for a moment, I said to myself, you'll have time to visit her, although I must say that it was not easy and I concentrated on her aunt's errands; It is in bad taste to change plans when you go in a group and even more so when time is pressing, I joined them walking at their pace, the procedures took several hours and when we arrived at the house, the sun was beginning to set, it is my favorite part of the day and I could not miss such an event, I quickly looked for my phone and positioned myself next to the house, on a small wall to observe the landscape and take several photos.
The sky looked beautiful, the clouds with a color palette in purple and blue tones, I took several shots comparing the color of the sky and the view is spectacular, the palm trees, the beach and the sky create a beautiful landscape, while I was taking the photos my friend came with her cousins and we sat down to talk, they told us about their adventures on the beach and fishing days, they really have stories to tell, some very funny others not so much, the conversation was so pleasant that we stayed late, when we saw the time it was eleven, we said goodbye and went to rest, because a long day awaited us the next day, which included visiting the beach.
Apenas tuvimos tiempo para comer y rápidamente guardamos los morrales, luego en compañía de mi amiga y su tía nos dirigimos al lugar donde debía realizar los trámites, en el camino no podía dejar de ver la playa, según mi amiga quedé encantada con la playa, es realmente hermosa y me gustó su color, mis pies inquietos me empujaban hacia la playa, en un momento sin darme cuenta me quedé parada observando la playa y cuando reaccioné mi amiga y su tía ya habían avanzado varios metros, caminé lo más rápido que pude hasta alcanzarlas y allí entendí que no estaba apoyando a mi amiga y a su tía, así que me olvidé de la playa por un momento, me dije, ya tendrás tiempo para visitarla, aunque debo decir que no fue fácil y me concentré en las diligencias de su tía; es de mal gusto cambiar los planes cuando vas en grupo y más aún cuando el tiempo es apremiante, me uní a ellas caminando a su ritmo, los trámites tomaron varias horas y al llegar a la casa, el sol empezaba a ocultarse, es mi parte favorita del día y no podía perderme tal acontecimiento, rápidamente busqué el teléfono y me ubiqué al lado de la casa, en un pequeño muro para observar el paisaje y tomar varias fotos.
El cielo se veía hermoso, las nubes con una paleta de colores en tonos morado y azul, hice varias tomas comparando el color del cielo y la vista es espectacular, las palmeras, la playa y el cielo crean un lindo paisaje, mientras tomaba las fotos mi amiga vino con sus primos y nos sentamos a conversar, nos hablaron sobre sus aventuras en la playa y las jornadas de pesca, estos si que tienen historias por contar, unas muy graciosas otras no tanto, la conversación fue tan amena que nos quedamos hasta tarde, cuando vimos la hora eran las once, nos despedimos y fuimos a descansar, pues nos esperaba una larga jornada el día siguiente, que incluía visitar la playa.
