My visit to Guaiquerí Park and encounter with large trees with impressive roots (Eng - Esp)
Hello traveling friends, it is a pleasure to greet you, hoping you have an excellent weekend, today is a special day and I feel very happy because my son finishes the school year and advances to another grade, we have had a very busy week, but every effort and work has been done with love so that he completes and delivers his assignments on time, it is incredible how time flies, my baby (not so baby) has already finished a school year; On this occasion I share my visit to Guaquerí Park, this is located in the center of the city and has a great variety of trees that stand out for their large size and very curious roots.
With my son's assignments and for work reasons, I had to run errands downtown and I took the opportunity to visit the park since it is very close to the bus stop. I also needed to protect myself from the intense sun and the park was an excellent option that allowed me to cool off and take a short walk. Although it has been raining these days, the sun's rays were strong. While I waited for my friend to go to the fabric store, I stayed in the park for a while and took several photos of the trees with my phone. I must say that the roots are truly surprising, some look like triangular tents, columns of chaguaramos, and others have several balls on the trunk and branches.
Hola amigos viajeros, es un placer saludarles, deseando que tengan un excelente fin de semana, hoy es un día especial y me siento muy feliz porque mi hijo termina el año escolar y avanza a otro grado, hemos tenido una semana muy ocupada, pero cada esfuerzo y trabajo se ha hecho con amor para que cumpla y entregue a tiempo sus asignaciones, es increíble como pasa el tiempo, ya mi bebé ( no tan bebé) terminó un ciclo escolar; en esta ocasión comparto mi visita al parque Guaquerí, este se ubica en el centro de la ciudad y cuenta con una gran variedad de árboles que destacan por su gran tamaño y raíces muy curiosas.
Con las asignaciones de mi hijo y por cuestiones de trabajo, tuve que hacer diligencias en el centro y aproveché para visitar el parque, ya que queda muy cerca de la parada de autobuses, además necesitaba protegerme del intenso sol y el parque fue una excelente opción que me permitió refrescarme y dar un pequeño paseo, aunque ha caído lluvia en estos días, los rayos del sol estaban fuertes, mientras esperaba a mi amiga para ir a la tienda de telas, me quedé un rato en el parque y con el teléfono le tomé varias fotos a los árboles, debo decir que las raíces son realmente sorprendentes, algunas parecen carpas triangulares, columnas de chaguaramos y otras tienen varias bolas en el tronco y las ramas.
The branches are leafy and the trees are located very close to the Manzanares River, perhaps the proximity to this water source makes them grow and expand very quickly, the truth is that these trees are very striking because of the peculiar shape of their roots and the large size of each one of them, after resting under the plants, I took a short tour of the park, because I was struck by the number of large trees located in the mentioned area and I took photos of some of them, focusing mainly on the trunk and roots, the park in general has large trees but those located in the area near the river stand out for their showy roots and abundant branches, I asked several workers the names of the trees and they only know the Apamate and a variety of Ceiba, which I really liked because of the shape of the trunk (similar to the chaguaramo).
I have visited the park several times and on this occasion I was able to see the roots of the trees very closely and appreciate details that I had overlooked on other visits. I like this park because it offers beautiful and wide spaces to enjoy contact with nature, as well as exercise machines, courts and trails for walking, a park for children, among others. If you are looking for a space for family fun and recreation where you can exercise, Guaiquerí Park is an excellent alternative, added to its location that is easily accessible and the spectacular view of the Manzanares River.
Las ramas son frondosas y los árboles están ubicados muy cerca del río Manzanares, tal vez la cercanía a esta fuente de agua los hace crecer y expandirse muy rápido, lo cierto es que estos árboles son muy llamativos por la peculiar forma de sus raíces y el gran tamaño que tienen cada uno de ellos, luego de descansar debajo de las plantas, hice un pequeño recorrido en el parque, pues me llamó la atención la cantidad de árboles grandes, ubicados en el área mencionada y tomé foto de algunos de ellos, enfocando principalmente el tronco y las raíces, el parque en general cuenta con grandes árboles pero los ubicados en la zona cercana al río resaltan por su por su vistosas raíces y abundantes ramas, le pregunté a varios trabajadores los nombres de los árboles y solo conocen el Apamate y una variedad de Ceiba, que me gustó mucho por la forma del tronco (similar al chaguaramo).
He visitado el parque varias veces y en esta oportunidad pude ver las raíces de los árboles muy de cerca y apreciar detalles que había obviado en las otras visitas, este parque me gusta porque ofrece hermosos y amplios espacios para disfrutar el contacto con la naturaleza, además máquinas para hacer ejercicios, canchas y senderos para las caminatas, parque para los niños, entre otros, si buscas un espacio de diversión y esparcimiento familiar y donde te puedas ejercitar, el parque Guaiquerí es una excelente alternativa, sumado a su ubicación que es de fácil acceso y la espectacular vista del río Manzanares.
Some of the tree roots are so big that when taking the photo they look dark, I tried to get as close as I could but still the color of the trunk at the bottom is not clearly seen, I think it's because of the height of the branches that block the passage of sunlight, among the trees I could see one of the most common in the country which is the mango 🥭 a delicious tropical fruit and we are just in the harvest season, in addition to the mango there were also several ceibas with their peculiar trunks, branches and roots, these roots also serve as a hideout for the squirrels that live in the park, it was very nice to visit the park again and after about an hour and a half I headed towards the fabric store where my friend was waiting for me.
Algunas raíces de los árboles son tan grandes que al tomar la foto se ven oscuras, intenté acercarme lo más que pude pero igualmente el color del tronco en la parte inferior no se aprecia con nitidez, pienso que es por la altura de las ramas que impiden el paso de la luz solar, entre los árboles pude ver uno de los más comunes en el país que es el mango 🥭 un delicioso fruto tropical y justamente estamos en la época de cosecha, además del mango habían también varias ceibas con sus peculiares troncos, ramas y raíces, estas raíces sirven también como guarida para las ardillas que habitan en el parque, fue muy agradable visitar nuevamente el parque y al cabo de aproximadamente hora y media me dirigí hacia la tienda de telas donde me esperaba mi amiga.

Saludos @lauramica, ah muchas gracias, tuvimos una semana muy ocupada pero valió todo el esfuerzo, ya terminó el ciclo escolar e inicia las vacaciones, el parque Guaiquerí, tiene una excelente ubicación en pleno centro de la ciudad y cuenta con amplios espacios y grandes árboles que refrescan el lugar, las raíces y troncos tienen formas curiosas y algunas aterradoras je, je 😂❤️
