My tour of the Los Bordones interchange and the Cumaná coastal promenade (Eng - Esp)
During a recent visit to the Los Bordones area—located at the entrance to the city of Cumaná, right off the intersection with the Antonio José de Sucre highway—I took the opportunity to explore the surroundings a bit. While my friend looked for the exact address where we needed to pick up some plants (specifically, several beautifully colored bougainvilleas), it took us a few minutes to locate the right road to take; I made the most of this time by taking a short walk around the interchange of the same name and snapping a few photos.
I have passed through this area many times, but on this occasion, I stopped to observe the mountain and the interchange in detail. The interchange's name is spelled out on the lower part of the mountain using rocks of various shapes and colors, giving it a unique style that harmonizes with the natural setting. Beyond the plants surrounding the mountain, numerous trees have been planted along the central median of the avenue to beautify the area and the city entrance.
In general, most plazas and parks in the capital of Sucre state are characterized by an abundance of vegetation; given the region's location and tropical climate, these plants play a vital role in cooling the air and combating the heat.
En una reciente visita al sector Los Bordones ubicado en la entrada de la ciudad Cumaná desde la intersección con la autopista Antonio José de Sucre, aproveché para hacer un pequeño recorrido por esta zona, mientras mi amiga buscaba la dirección exacta donde debíamos dirigirnos para recoger unas plantas que por cierto eran varias Bugambilias, con hermosos colores, demoramos varios minutos ubicando la carretera por donde debíamos desplazarnos y este tiempo lo aproveché al máximo para hacer un pequeño recorrido por el área del distribuidor homónimo y tomar algunas fotografías.
He pasado por esta zona varias veces pero en esta ocasión me detuve a observar en detalle la montaña y el distribuidor, cuyo nombre está inscrito en la parte baja de la montaña con rocas de diferente formas y colores, esto le da un estilo muy diferente y acorde al entorno natural que caracteriza a este espacio, ya que en él además de las plantas que se ubican alrededor de la montaña; en la parte central de la avenida se han sembrado numerosos árboles para embellecer el área y la entrada de la ciudad.
En general, la mayoría de las plazas y parques en la capital del estado Sucre, se caracterizan por la abundancia de plantas, creo que por la ubicación y el clima tropical de la región, estas son de gran ayuda para refrescar y combatir el calor.
From this vantage point, one can enjoy beautiful views of the mountain, the hotels, and the residential complexes, as well as the path leading to the beach in that area. From the main highway, one can see various palm trees and ornamental plants; behind this strip of vegetation lies the beach, which features hotel facilities, a club, restaurants, and swimming pools for visitors to enjoy. On the median strip of the highway, there is a beautiful rock-mosaic mural bearing the phrase "Yo amo a Cumaná" (I love Cumaná), accompanied by a lovely red heart; there are also concrete walkways allowing movement to both sides of the avenue.
My favorite part—aside from the view of the beach—is the presence of beautiful bougainvillea plants in the area; they come in fuchsia, orange, and purple. Various plants, including palm trees, surround the mountain. Opposite the Hotel Nueva Toledo, there is a view of the rock mural dedicated to Cumaná, with palm trees in the background bathed in the light of the setting sun. The phrase "Yo amo a Cumaná" appears in various parts of the city; there is even a plaza with that name near the interchange, and the Monument also features giant letters displaying the phrase. Taking advantage of my journey along this thoroughfare, I walked along both sides, admiring the landscape with the mountain in the background—a mountain that stretches along the Antonio José de Sucre Highway, offering beautiful scenery; along the stretch toward Santa Fe, one can see it shrouded in mist.
Desde este punto se aprecian hermosas vistas de la montaña, los hoteles y conjuntos residenciales, también el sendero que conduce hacia la playa en el mencionado sector, desde la carretera nacional se aprecian varias palmeras y plantas ornamentales, detrás de esta franja vegetal se ubica la playa que cuenta con instalaciones de hoteles, club, restaurantes y piscinas para el disfrute de los visitantes; en el terreno ubicado en el centro de la autopista se encuentra un hermoso mural hecho con rocas, en el cual se lee la frase "Yo amo a Cumaná", está acompañado de un hermoso corazón rojo, también cuenta con senderos de concreto para desplazarse hacia ambos lados de la avenida.
Mi parte favorita, además de la vista de la playa, es la presencia de hermosas Bugambilias en el terreno, hay de color fucsia, naranja y morado, alrededor de la montaña hay varias plantas entre ellas palmeras, ubicada al frente del hotel Nueva Toledo, tenemos luego una vista del mural hecho con rocas, alusivo a Cumaná, al fondo varias palmeras, bañadas por la luz del sol al atardecer, la frase "Yo amo a Cumaná", se consigue en varias partes de la ciudad, incluso cerca del distribuidor hay una plaza con ese mismo nombre, en el Monumento también hay unas letras gigantes con esa frase; aprovechando el recorrido por esta arteria vial, caminé hacia ambos lados observando el paisaje con la montaña de fondo, la cual se extiende lo largo de la autopista Antonio José de Sucre y ofrece hermosos paisajes, en el tramo hacia Santa Fe se puede observar como la cubre la neblina.
Continuing the tour of the interchange area, I noticed a green house; given its location, I believe it serves as a storage shed for garden cleaning and maintenance tools. There is also a long stone path that forms part of a rock mural.
Next, we enjoyed an incredible view of the avenue, the mountain, and—once again—the beautiful bougainvilleas, accompanied by neem plants, which are very popular in the area. After finishing the tour of the interchange and locating the right spot, we got back on the road and headed to the garden center; it was much closer than we thought, so picking out the plants didn't take long. From there, we moved on to the perimeter road, where we watched the sunset and met up with other friends for a short walk along the beach. This is one of my favorite areas because of its stunning sunsets; the colors in the sky are magnificent, and the waves are gentle. Besides admiring the beauty of the sea and the landscape at dusk, I watched crabs scuttling across the rocks. Although I like taking photos of them, I didn't try too hard since they are so fast; instead, I simply watched them make their way and hide beneath the rocks. As the afternoon wore on, the sky took on beautiful colors and the water shimmered silver; the breeze was cool and perfect for relaxing after a hectic, activity-filled day. When night fell, we headed back home, my friend delighted to have found such beautiful plants to adorn her garden.
Continuando con el recorrido por la zona del distribuidor, noté que en el área se encuentra una casa de color verde y por su ubicación creo que funciona como depósito, para las herramientas de limpieza y mantenimiento de los jardines, también hay un largo camino de piedra que forma parte del mural hecho con rocas.
Luego tenemos una increíble vista de la avenida, la montaña y nuevamente las hermosas Bugambilias, acompañadas con las plantas de Neem, muy populares en la zona, terminado mi recorrido por el distribuidor y ya con la dirección ubicada, tomamos nuevamente la carretera y nos dirigimos hacia el jardín, estaba mucho más cerca de lo que pensábamos y nos tomó poco tiempo buscar las plantas, desde allí nos trasladamos hasta la avenida perimetral, donde pudimos observar el atardecer y reunirnos con otros amigos, para hacer una pequeña caminata por la orilla de la playa, esta zona es una de mis favoritas por sus hermosos atardeceres, los colores en el cielo son hermosos y el oleaje es suave; además de contemplar la belleza del mar y el hermoso paisaje al atardecer, pude ver algunos cangrejos desplazarse por las rocas, aunque me gusta tomarles foto, no insistí en ello, porque son muy rápidos, solo me quedé observando su travesía y cómo se escondían debajo de las rocas, mientras fue avanzando la tarde el cielo se tornó con hermosos colores y el agua se veía de color plateado, la brisa era fresca y perfecta para relajarse luego de un día agitado con muchas actividades, al caer la noche tomamos el camino de vuelta a casa y mi amiga muy feliz de haber encontrado las hermosas plantas para adornar su jardín.
