Contemplating the Manzanares River and its beautiful natural surroundings from Ayacucho Park (Eng - Esp)
Greetings, nature-loving friends, I hope you have an excellent and blessed day with your loved ones. We're already in the second half of April and in the midst of the dry season. The heat in my area is truly intense. At this time of year, outings to beaches, rivers, parks, and other places where we can enjoy nature, the fresh breeze, and beautiful scenery are very common. In previous posts, I've mentioned that the city of Cumaná has two parks in the city center, both in a natural setting (the Manzanares River). These include Ayacucho Park. This park has an excellent location and connects with the city's main avenues. It's also very close to the aforementioned river, a beautiful place that combines nature with the urban landscape. The park is spacious and has several recreational areas for children and adults: Plaza Sucre, the museum, the children's recreation and entertainment area, and a long walkway that leads from the park entrance to the skateboard park.
Upon entering the path, you'll see the Manzanares River on the right, surrounded by bushes, large trees, and grass. The view from this area is truly enchanting. My favorite part is the reflection of the trees in the water. It's a kind of mirror that shows the beauty of two important natural elements: trees and water. I could spend several hours gazing at this enchanting landscape; it's very beautiful and relaxing.
On a recent visit to the park, my son and I took a short walk along the banks of the Manzanares River. We took the park's path and sat down when we reached the last bench. From this point we were very close to the river and the view is incredible. After running several errands in the intense heat, we decided to go to the park in the afternoon, since at this time the sun has set a bit and the breeze is cooler. Also, at this time the view of the landscape is beautiful. With the setting sun, the landscape looks spectacular and the sky takes on different shades. It was a fun walk that allowed us to rest and observe the Manzanares River again.
Saludos amigos amantes de la naturaleza, espero que tengan un excelente y bendecido día en unión de sus seres queridos, ya estamos en la segunda quincena del mes de abril y plenatemporada de sequía, el calor en la zona donde vivo es realmente es intenso, en esta época del año son muy comunes las salidas a las playas, ríos, parques y diferentes lugares donde podamos disfrutar el contacto con la naturaleza, fresca brisa y los hermosos paisajes, en publicaciones anteriores he comentado que la ciudad de Cumaná cuenta con dos parques en el centro de la ciudad, ambos en un entorno natural (el río Manzanares), entre ellos el parque Ayacucho, este parque tiene una excelente ubicación y converge con las principales avenidas de la ciudad, además se encuentra muy cerca del río mencionado, un hermoso lugar que combina la naturaleza con el paisaje urbano, el parque es amplio y cuenta con varias áreas para el esparcimiento de niños y adultos; plaza Sucre, el museo, el área de esparcimiento y diversión infantil, además una larga caminería que conduce desde la entrada del parque hasta la pista de skateboard.
Al entrar en la caminería, observas al lado derecho el río manzanares, rodeado de arbustos, grandes árboles y gramas, la vista desde esta zona es realmente encantadora, mi parte favorita es el reflejo de los árboles en el agua, es una especie de espejo que muestra la belleza de dos importantes elementos naturales; árboles y agua, puedo pasar varias horas observando este encantador paisaje, es muy lindo y relajante.
En una reciente visita al parque, mi hijo y yo dimos un paseo corto por la orilla del río Manzanares, tomamos el sendero del parque y nos sentamos en el último banco, desde allí estábamos muy cerca del río y la vista es increíble, después de hacer varias diligencias bajo el intenso calor, decidimos ir al parque por la tarde, ya que a esa hora el sol ya se ha puesto un poco y la brisa es más fresca. Además, a esa hora el paisaje es precioso, con la puesta del sol, el paisaje se ve espectacular y el cielo adquiere diferentes tonalidades, fue un paseo divertido que nos permitió descansar y observar de nuevo el río Manzanares.
On the riverbank, several shrubs and trees stand out for their large size, including the Ceiba Ceiba pentandra. This tree has a thick trunk, and its wood is used to make doors, furniture, beds, and more. Upon seeing the tree, I was struck by the quantity of fruit, shaped like a light bulb and very similar to a mango. As I got closer, I noticed that it has a circle at the top and a small branch that connects it to the tree. Its texture is rough and its color is light green.
With the strong breeze of this time it is common to see the seeds scattered and moved by the wind, they look like cotton fibers, while we were sitting several passed very close to us, my son tried to take some but he couldn't, they were too high and others escaped from his hands, this tree is truly impressive for its size and wide branches, when it is young it usually has thorns on the trunk, according to information from a man with whom I spoke, the dry season is the best for the tree to renew itself and with the help of the wind the seeds and flowers go to other places.
In the penultimate photo you can see how some fruits have already lost their shell and the seeds are ready to come out, they are like cotton balls that with the help of the wind spread across the ground, in this case you can see them on the road, the riverbank and the park 🏞️, nature is simply amazing, it was a great walk and a nice adventure, the small details make the difference, I have been to the park several times and I had not detailed the Ceiba tree, there are also Apamates that stand out for their beautiful pink flowers, shrubs and ornamental plants that create a beautiful landscape on the riverbank.
En la orila del río se observan varios arbustos y árboles que destacan por su gran tamaño, entre ellos la Ceiba Ceiba pentandra, es un árbol de tronco grueso y su madera se usa para hacer puertas, muebles, camas y más, al ver el árbol me llamó la atención la cantidad de frutos, con forma de bombillo y muy parecidos al mango, al acercarme noté que tiene en la parte superior un círculo y pequeña rama que lo une al árbol, la textura es áspera y su color verde claro.
Con la fuerte brisa de esta época es común ver las semillas dispersas y movidas por el viento, parecen fibras de algodón, mientras estuvimos sentados varias pasaron muy cerca de nosotros, mi hijo intentó tomar algunas pero no pudo, iban muy altas y otras se escaparon de sus manos, este árbol es realmente impresionante por su tamaño y amplias ramas, cuando es joven suele tener espinas en el tronco, según la información de un señor con quien conversé, la época de sequía es la mejor para que el árbol se renueve y con ayuda del viento las semillas y flores van a otros lugares.
En la antepenúltima foto se observa como algunos frutos ya han perdido la concha y las semillas están listas para salir, son como copos de algodón que con ayuda del viento se esparcen por el terreno, en este caso se pueden ver en la carretera, la ribera del río y el parque 🏞️, la naturaleza es sencillamente asombrosa, fue un gran paseo y una linda aventura, los pequeños detalles hacen la diferencia, he ido varias veces al parque y no había detallado el árbol de Ceiba, también hay Apamates que resaltan por sus hermosas flores rosadas, arbustos y plantas ornamentales que crean lindo paisaje en la orilla del río.

Recuerdo haber disfrutado esa vista la última vez que visité Cumaná, hace unos 10 años más o menos.
Mamá y tía cantaban una canción muy bonita: "Río Manzanares, déjame pasar, que mi madre enferma, me mandó a llamar ..."
Después se ponían tristes, añorando su tierra.
