A walk along the banks of the Manzanares River in Guaiquerí Park (Eng - Esp)
Guaiquerí Park, located in the city center, is a beautiful place to enjoy contact with nature, share with family and friends and if it's about celebrating a birthday, it also has the so-called piñata kiosks that have the necessary elements to make the birthday of children and adults a beautiful experience in a charming natural environment. It also has concrete cabins and their respective benches, to share and celebrate with family and friends, take walks and observe the large trees. A great attraction of the park and that I really like is the presence of the Manzanares River along the land in the back, which offers beautiful landscapes and an impressive view from the park and Aristiguieta Avenue.
Last month while running errands in the city center, I headed towards the park 🏞️specifically along the banks of the Manzanares River, this is a kind of concrete walkway decorated with rocks that give it a country style and in keeping with the natural environment, I began my tour through the first gate of the park 🏞️ following the concrete wall until I reached the last walkway or bridge, these stand out for their colorful lines that contrast with the place, during the tour I observed several trees including the Apamate with few flowers, on this date was beginning the flowering of this beautiful tree that stands out for its striking pink flowers, when the Apamate blooms the city center and the area that includes the Guaiquerí and Ayacucho parks are dressed in pink and offer a spectacular view of the place and the ground with a beautiful carpet of flowers, in addition to the Apamate, I observed a plant with yellow flowers on the banks of the river, this flower, according to one of the park rangers is linked with the name of Cumaná, according to him, the aborigines who inhabited this area called this flower Cumaná and from there comes the name of the city, it was also widely used for its healing properties.
El parque Guaiquerí, ubicado en el centro de la ciudad, es un hermoso lugar para disfrutar el contacto con la naturaleza, compartir con familiares y amigos y si de celebrar el cumpleaños se trata este también cuenta con los llamados kioscos piñateros que tienen los elementos necesarios para hacer del cumpleaños de los niños y adultos una linda experiencia en un encantador entorno natural, además cuenta con cabañas de concreto y sus respectivos bancos, para compartir y celebrar con familiares y amigos, hacer caminatas y observar los grandes árboles; un gran atractivo del parque y que me gusta mucho es la presencia del Río Manzanares a lo largo del terreno en la parte trasera, que ofrece hermosos paisajes y una impresionante vista desde el parque y la avenida Aristiguieta.
El mes pasado mientras hacía diligencias en el centro de la ciudad, me dirigí hacia el parque 🏞️específicamente por la ribera del río manzanares, esta es una especie de caminería de concreto decorada con rocas que le dan un estilo campestre y acorde con el entorno natural, inicié mi recorrido por la primera puerta del parque 🏞️ siguiendo el muro de concreto hasta llegar a la última pasarela o puente, estas destacan por sus coloridas líneas que contrastan con el lugar, durante el recorrido observé varios árboles entre ellos el Apamate con pocas flores, en esta fecha estaba iniciando la floración de este hermoso árbol que destaca por sus llamativas flores rosas, cuando florece el Apamate el centro de la ciudad y la zona que comprende los parques Guaiquerí y Ayacucho se visten de color rosado y ofrecen una espectacular vista del lugar y el suelo con una bella alfombra de flores, además del Apamate, observé una planta con flores amarillas en la ribera del río, esta flor, de acuerdo con uno de los guardaparques está vinculada con el nombre de Cumaná, según él, los aborígenes que habitaban esta zona llamaban a esta flor Cumaná y de allí proviene el nombre de la ciudad, además era muy usada por sus propiedades curativas.
I started the tour very close to the Antonio Guzmán Blanco bridge, until the final part of the park that converges with the Gómez Rubio bridge, I took several photos and sat under a tree to observe the landscape and listen to the birds singing, curiously I could not see any birds, I imagine they were hidden among the branches and it was difficult for me to spot them, the squirrels that are common in the park and I have regularly seen them on previous visits, I could not see them on this occasion either, perhaps because it was very close to the river it was not possible, or they live in the central area of the park where the fruit trees are.
My visit to the park was to meet up with a friend after running several errands in the city center, but for transportation reasons she arrived much later than we had agreed and this allowed me to spend more time in the park, walk and observe the large trees that adorn the place, these are located both on the edge that faces the park and on the riverbank that converges with Aristiguieta Avenue, in those days the first rains had fallen and a beautiful green color can be seen in the plants, as I mentioned before the park has large trees on almost the entire land, which create a small, thick forest with a fresh breeze and beautiful views of the surroundings.
Inicié el recorrido muy cerca del puente Antonio Guzmán Blanco, hasta la parte final del parque que converge con el puente Gómez Rubio, tomé varias fotos y me senté debajo de un árbol a observar el paisaje y escuchar el canto de las aves, curiosamente no pude ver ningún pájaro, me imagino estaban ocultos entre las ramas y me fue difícil avistarlos, las ardillas que son comunes en el parque y regularmente las he visto en visitas anteriores, tampoco pude verlas en esta ocasión, tal vez por estar muy cerca del río no fue posible, o ellas habitan en la zona central del parque donde están los árboles frutales.
Mi visita al parque era para reunirme con una amiga luego de hacer varias diligencias en el centro de la ciudad, pero por motivos de transporte ella llegó mucho más tarde de lo que habíamos acordado y esto me permitió pasar más tiempo en el parque, caminar y observar los grandes árboles que adornan el lugar, estos se ubican tanto en la orilla que da con el parque y en la ribera que converge con la avenida Aristiguieta, en esos días habían caído las primeras lluvias y se observa un hermoso color verde en las plantas, como lo mencioné anteriormente el parque cuenta con grandes árboles en casi todo el terreno, que crean un pequeño y espeso bosque con fresca brisa y hermosas vistas del entorno.
After two hours, my friend arrived and I only had to take the walkway tour, we were both curious to know this area of the park and we began our walk very excitedly observing each of the walkways in detail, the first thing we noticed was that both are made of concrete and in the back they have a black and green fence, the stairs are painted yellow and in the front they have lines of various colors, one of them combines lines with semicircles, the other combines perpendicular lines in the colors red and black, in the back they have a single-color paint and some figures that look blurred, I do not know if these walkways can be used, but I must say that I loved their design and striking colors, although I would have liked to walk on them and observe the river from the center, it is the first time that I walk through the park to the area where it converges with the Gómez Rubio bridge.
The park is part of a natural environment that includes part of the Manzanares River as it passes through the city center and is managed by INPARQUES, it was a fun and relaxing walk to explore the banks of the Manzanares River from Guaiquerí Park, in addition to the large trees I loved the view of the place, it is impressive how you can see the river and the reflection of the trees in it, this was my favorite part of the walk seeing the reflection of the trees and the walkways in the river, the view is definitely beautiful and invites you to contemplate these wonders that nature gives us, at the end of the walk we headed to the center of the park in search of squirrels but our mission was unsuccessful, then we sat near the trees where they are regularly found, but it was in vain, we talked for a while because we had not seen each other for more than a year and we completely forgot about the squirrels, these nice friends decided not to go out that day, as evening fell we left the park and headed to the bus stop to take the transportation that would take us back home, it was a nice experience to visit the park again and chat with my dear friend, also get to know in detail the Manzanares River footbridges as they run through Guaiquerí Park.
Pasadas dos horas, llegó mi amiga y solo me faltaba hacer el recorrido por las pasarelas, ambas teníamos curiosidad por conocer esta zona del parque e iniciamos muy entusiasmadas nuestro paseo observando en detalle cada una de las pasarelas, lo primero que observamos fue que ambas están hechas de concreto y en la parte posterior tienen una reja de color negroy verde, las escaleras están pintadas de color amarillo y en la parte frontal tienen líneas de varios colores, una de ellas combina líneas con semicírculos, la otra combina líneas perpendiculares en los colores rojo y negro, en el posterior tienen pintura unicolor y algunas figuras que se ven borrosas, desconozco si estas pasarelas se pueden utilizar, pero debo decir que me encantó su diseño y llamativos colores, anque me hubiese gustado caminar en ellas y observar el río desde el centro, es la primera vez que recorro el parque hasta la la zona donde converge con el puente Gómez Rubio.
El parque forma parte de un entorno natural que abarca parte del río Manzanares a su paso por el centro de la ciudad y es administrado por INPARQUES, fue un divertido y relajante paseo explorar la ribera del río manzanares desde el parque Guaiquerí, además de los grandes árboles me encantó la vista del lugar, es impresionante como se aprecia el río y el reflejo de los árboles en él, está fue mi parte favorita del paseo ver el reflejo de los árboles y las pasarelas en el río, la vista definitivamente es hermosa e invita a contemplar estas maravillas que la naturaleza nos regala, al terminar el paseo nos dirigimos al centro del parque en busca de las ardillas pero nuestra misión no tuvo éxito, luego nos sentamos cerca de los árboles donde regularmente se encuentran, pero fue en vano, conversamos un rato, pues teníamos más de un año sin vernos y nos olvidamos por completo de las ardillas, estás simpáticas amigas decidieron no salir ese día, al caer la tarde salimos del parque y nos dirigimos a la parada a tomar el transporte que nos llevaría de vuelta a casa, fue una linda experiencia visitar nuevamente el parque y conversar con mi querida amiga, también conocer en detalle las pasarelas del río Manzanares en su recorrido por el parque Guaiquerí.
