A tour of the eastern region and a visit to Caicara de Maturín (Eng - esp)
Hello there, fellow travelers! It is a pleasure to greet you. I hope you have an excellent and blessed week and that this new month brings abundant blessings, health, love, and prosperity to every home. We have officially entered the school holiday period here in Venezuela—a perfect time for the kids to rest and explore different parts of the city, the region, and the country. During a recent outing with my son, we toured various parts of the city and watched the sunset on a day that was rainy yet relaxing; the rain cooled the air, and we enjoyed the fresh breeze. Although we didn't get home until nightfall because we had to wait for the rain to stop, it was a very pleasant excursion.
While looking through my phone's photo gallery, I came across several pictures from trips to the eastern region. We visited the city of Puerto La Cruz, Caicara de Maturín in Monagas State, the famous "Aguas de Moisés" (Waters of Moses) in Sucre State, and various rural areas known for their beautiful mountains, tropical palm trees, and stunning sunsets. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, watching the sunset—and the different colors painting the sky—is one of my favorite times of day; it is a lovely experience and a chance to relax while admiring the changing hues above.
Although the day was overcast, the views were lovely; the clouds displayed a beautiful white hue with shades of beige and gray, creating a stunning landscape. The mountain and the surrounding houses looked spectacular, resembling illustrations from the storybooks of my childhood. When the rain stopped, the sky turned a blue-gray, and small yellow glimmers appeared above the mountain against large gray clouds, signaling that it was time to resume our journey.
Hola, hola amigos viajeros, es un placer saludarles, deseando que tengan una excelente y bendecida semana, que este nuevo mes venga cargado de grandes bendiciones, salud, amor y prosperidad en cada hogar, ya formalmente estamos en el periodo de vacaciones escolares en Venezuela, una época perfecta para que los chicos puedan descansar y conocer diferentes lugares de la ciudad, la región y el país, en una reciente salida con mi hijo hicimos un recorrido por diferentes partes de la ciudad donde observamos el atardecer en un día lluvioso pero relajante, con ñla lluvia la temperatura bajó un poco y disfrutamos la fresca brisa, aunque llegamos en la noche a casa porque nos tocó esperar que terminara de llover, fue un paseo muy agradable.
Revisando la galería del teléfono, encontré varias fotos de unos viajes, por la región oriental, en ellos visitamos la ciudad de Puerto la Cruz, Caicara de Maturín en el estado Monagas las conocidas Aguas de Moisés en el estado Sucre y varias zonas rurales de la región, que destacan por sus hermosas montañas, palmeras típicas de las zonas tropicales y hermosas vistas de los atardeceres, como lo he mencionado en publicaciones anteriores, son uno de mis momentos favoritos del día, ver el atardecer y los diferentes colores que pintan el cielo, es una linda experiencia y la oportunidad para relajarse mientras se aprecian los diferentes colores en el cielo.
Aunque el día estaba nublado, las vistas son bonitas, las nubes tienen un hermoso color blanco con tonos beige y gris, que crean un hermoso paisaje, la montaña y las casas a su alrededor se ven espectaculares y parecen las imágenes de los cuentos que leía en mi infancia, cuando cesó la lluvia el cielo se tornó en un color azul grisáceo y pequeños destellos amarillos aparecieron encima de la montaña con grandes nubes de color gris, anunciando que era tiempo de retomar nuestro camino.
Continuing our journey, we catch a view of the sunset at San Luis Beach in Puerto La Cruz, followed by a tour of downtown Barcelona—the city that serves as the capital for the Puerto La Cruz area. Sunsets here, much like in Cumaná, are stunning; the sky takes on beautiful shades of red and yellow, while building silhouettes stand out against the backlight of the sun. Next, we see the city sky after nightfall, almost entirely blanketed by clouds and the last lingering glimmers of sunlight. This is followed by a panoramic view from a building balcony, offering a glimpse of the city as night settles in.
The sunset and twilight photographs are undoubtedly beautiful, showcasing the diverse colors that paint the sky. As the sun gradually dips below the horizon, bands of red, yellow, and gray form, and clouds spread across the heavens until the sun finally disappears, giving way to the night. With the arrival of darkness, the city lights come on and the atmosphere shifts completely; the nightscape is defined by colorful lights and the imposing silhouettes of the buildings.
Avanzando en nuestro recorrido tenemos una vista del atardecer en playa San Luis, en Puerto la cruz y un recorrido por el centro de la ciudad de Barcelona, que es la capital de Puerto la cruz, los atardeceres en esta zona al igual que en Cumaná son muy bonitos, el cielo se ve de un hermoso color rojo y amarillo y los edificios muestran su silueta a contraluz con el sol, luego tenemos una vista del cielo ya caída la noche en la ciudad y cubierta casi en su totalidad por las nubes y los últimos destellos del sol, seguidamente tenemos una panorámica desde el balcón de un edificio, allí se observa parte de la ciudad y la llegada de la noche.
Las fotografías del atardecer y anochecer sin duda son hermosas y permiten observar los variados colores que pintan el cielo, el sol progresivamente se va ocultando y se van formando franjas de color rojo, amarillo, gris y las nubes superiores van cubriendo el cielo hasta que finalmente el astro rey se oculta para dar paso a la noche, con la llegada de la noche se encienden las luces de la ciudad y el ambiente cambia totalmente, la vista del paisaje nocturno destaca por sus coloridas luces y silueta de los edificios que resaltan por su tamaño.
The final leg of our journey takes us to Aguas de Moisés (Waters of Moses) in Sucre State. This well-known recreational park features a Moses-inspired theme; beyond enjoying the thermal waters and charming pools, visitors can view various sculptures related to the biblical story—such as the image of Moses holding the Tablets of the Law—as well as statues of pharaohs and other figures that make for beautiful photographs. The park is located in the town of Casanay, within the Andrés Blanco municipality of the same state.
Next, we traveled to Caicara de Maturín—my personal favorite destination. This beautiful town is renowned for the festivities held on December 28th, known as the "Fiesta del Mono" (Festival of the Monkey). The image shows the famous Monódromo (Monkey Arena), featuring various sculptures and a mural designating Caicara as the cultural capital of Venezuela; the mural depicts the festival's monkey figure alongside prominent regional artists. In December, the city welcomes numerous visitors who gather to enjoy this unique celebration. It is a lovely town with beautiful agricultural landscapes that has made significant contributions to the culture of Monagas State and Venezuela as a whole.
The terrain features mountains where visitors can connect with nature while staying in cabins located at the foothills. The next photo shows one of these cabins, set in a beautiful environment with a pleasant climate—perfect for those looking to rest and relieve stress. At sunset, the view is enchanting; the palm trees, mountains, and sky combine to create a stunning landscape, ideal for relaxation and enjoying a vacation. Our stay in the town was delightful; we enjoyed connecting with nature, strolling through the streets, and experiencing the local culture. The Eastern region certainly boasts beautiful places worth visiting, and Caicara de Maturín is one of them. I loved visiting this town and discovering its beautiful, welcoming spots and picturesque streets, which stand as important cultural symbols for the area and the country's Eastern region.
La última parte de nuestro recorrido se ubica las aguas de Moisés en el estado Sucre, es un balneario muy conocido que está ambientado con la temática de Moisés, en este lugar además de disfrutar de las aguas termales y encantadoras piscinas hay varias esculturas alusivas a esta historia en la imagen vemos a Moisés con las tabla de la ley, hay también esculturas de los faraones, entre otros, que son muy buscados para hacer hermosas fotografías, este balneario se ubica en la población de Casanay municipio Andrés Blanco del estado mencionado.
Luego avanzamos hasta Caicara de Maturín, que fue mi destino favorito, esta hermosa población es conocida por sus festividades celebradas el 28 de diciembre; "La fiesta del Mono" en la imagen vemos el conocido monódromo con varias esculturas y un mural que señala a Caicara como la capital cultural de Venezuela, en él está la imagen del mono y artistas destacados de la región; el mes de diciembre esta ciudad recibe numerosos visitantes que se dan cita para disfrutar de esta peculiar festividad, es un pueblo muy bonito con hermosos paisajes de vocación agrícola y que ha hecho grandes aportes a la cultura del estado Monagas y Venezuela.
Su relieve cuenta con montañas y en él puedes disfrutar el contacto con la naturaleza, en las cabañas ubicadas en el pie de monte, en la siguiente fotografía vemos una de las cabañas con un hermoso entorno y un clima agradable para quienes buscan descansar y relajarse del estrés, en el atardecer la vista es encantadora, las palmeras, montañas y cielo crean un hermoso paisaje, ideal para relajarse y disfrutar las vacaciones, nuestra estadía en esta población fue muy agradable, pudimos disfrutar el contacto con la naturaleza, recorrer sus calles y conocer parte de la cultura de este hermoso pueblo, definitivamente la región Oriental tiene hermosos lugares que vale la pena visitar y Caicara de Maturín es uno de ellos, me encantó visitar este pueblo, conocer sus hermosos y acogedores lugares, calles pintorescas que constituyen un símbolo cultural muy importante, en la zona y el Oriente del país.
