A short tour of San Antonio del Golfo and discovering a beautiful purple orchid (Eng - Esp)
Hello fellow travelers, I wish you an excellent and blessed week with your loved ones. Today I'm sharing a short tour of San Antonio del Golfo, a beautiful coastal town in the state of Sucre, located a few kilometers from Cumaná on Highway 9, the Cumaná-Paria Peninsula national highway. This picturesque town is known for its beautiful beaches and a mountainous area towards the town of Pericantar. The tour took place in the morning with the first rays of sunlight. On one side of the road, you can see part of the mountain, trees, and vegetation dry due to the season. On the other side of the road are several very beautiful beaches and the headquarters of some institutions such as the police, fire department, and educational center, among others. During this visit, I was able to observe a beautiful purple flower called an orchid.
The petals are round and pointed at the top end. The flower is made up of five deep purple petals; the smaller ones are light purple with white lines on the back. I liked the color of this flower. Also, the orchid is the national flower of Venezuela, and there is a great variety of this beautiful plant in the country.
This is the first time I've seen this flower. Its color is definitely vibrant and beautiful, and it makes it stand out among the other plants in the garden, which are also flowering and come in a variety of colors. This shade of purple certainly makes it stand out and beautifies the garden. From the moment I saw it, I wanted to take pictures, but first I asked permission from the owner, a lovely grandmother. People there are usually very careful with their gardens; there are even times when taking photos isn't allowed because of the intensity of the sun's rays. So I waited until the afternoon to take a picture of this beautiful plant. This is my entry for the Qurator's Photo Quest | Purple
Hola amigos viajeros, les deseo una excelente y bendecida semana en unión de sus seres queridos. Hoy les comparto un pequeño recorrido por San Antonio del Golfo, un hermoso pueblo costero del estado de Sucre, ubicado a pocos kilómetros de Cumaná por la Carretera Nacional Troncal 9, que conecta la Península de Paria con Cumaná. Este pintoresco pueblo es conocido por sus hermosas playas y su zona montañosa cerca de Pericantar. El recorrido se realizó por la mañana, con los primeros rayos de sol. A un lado de la carretera, se puede apreciar parte de la montaña, árboles y vegetación seca debido a la estación. Al otro lado se encuentran varias playas muy hermosas y las sedes de algunas instituciones como la policía, los bomberos y el centro educativo, entre otras. Durante esta visita, pude observar una hermosa flor morada llamada orquídea.
Los pétalos son redondos y puntiagudos en el extremo superior. La flor está compuesta por cinco pétalos de color morado intenso; los más pequeños son de color morado claro con líneas blancas en el envés. Me encantó el color de esta flor. Además, la orquídea es la flor nacional de Venezuela, y existe una gran variedad de esta hermosa planta en el país.
Es la primera vez que veo esta flor, su color definitivamente es vibrante y hermoso, además la hace resaltar entre las otras plantas del jardín, que también son florales y con variados colores pero este tono de morado sin duda destaca y embellece el jardín; desde que la vi quise tomar fotos, pero primero le pedí permiso a la dueña, una linda abuela, las personas suelen ser muy cuidadosas con sus jardines, incluso hay horas en las cuales no está permitido tomar fotos por la incidencia de los rayos solares, así que esperé la hora de la tarde para tomarle una foto a esta hermosa planta, esta es mi entrada para el Qurator's Photo Quest | Purple
After visiting this beautiful and colorful garden, our next stop was the coastal area. Because it was early in the day, the sun wasn't yet shining on the beach. After a short stroll along the boardwalk, we headed towards the Cachamaure resort complex, which offers cabins for lodging, a children's playground, a party club, and other amenities, as well as a beautiful beach at the back.
It stands out for its numerous palm trees and other trees. It has a perimeter fence, and the entrance is located through an orange booth, followed by the gate and a path lined with Ficus trees, which leads to the various accommodations and recreational areas. It's a very popular spot, especially during school holidays and Easter week. For weekends, it's the perfect option to enjoy a different kind of day with family and friends on the Gulf coast, surrounded by incredible scenery. Here's another view of the beach; the sky and sea seem to share the same color. There are a few clouds and the calm waters of the Caribbean Sea. Next, we move on to the residential area. We see some houses located near the beach, palm trees, and flowers. I was struck by the abundance of plants in this area, especially bougainvillea, with fuchsia being the most prevalent color.
In addition to its beautiful beaches, this town boasts hot springs and several beach houses ideal for weekend getaways or special celebrations. Their proximity to the beach makes it easy to access the sea at any time of day.
Luego de visitar este hermoso y colorido jardín, nuestra siguiente parada fue en la zona costera, por lo temprano del día no se observa la incidencia del sol en la playa, tras un pequeño paseo por el malecón nos dirigimos hacia el complejo vacacional Cachamaure, el cual cuenta con cabañas para alojarse, parque para los niños, club para festejo entre otros, además una hermosa playa en la parte posterior.
Destaca por sus numerosas palmeras y árboles, tiene cerca perimetral y la entrada se ubica por el cubículo de color naranja, seguido de la puerta y un sendero decorado con árboles de Fisco, que conducen hacia los diferentes alojamientos y áreas recreativas; es un lugar muy visitado especialmente en la temporada de vacaciones escolares y semana Santa, para los fines de semana es la opción perfecta para disfrutar con familiares y amigos un día diferente a la orilla del golfo con sus increíbles paisajes, a continuación tenemos otra vista de la playa, el cielo y el mar parecen tener el mismo color, se ven pocas nubes y las tranquilas aguas del mar Caribe, seguidamente avanzamos hasta la zona residencial, vemos algunas casas ubicadas cerca de la playa, palmeras y flores, me llamó la atención que en esta área hay muchas plantas, especialmente de Bugambilias, el color que más abunda es el fucsia.
Esta población, además de sus hermosas playas, posee aguas termales y varias casas de playa ideales para pasar los fines de semanas o realizar celebraciones especiales, la ubicación de estas es muy cerca de la playa, lo cual facilita el acceso al mar a cualquier hora del día.
Next, we move on to the residential area, which extends from the main avenue to the coastal zone. This area includes several streets, houses, commercial establishments, and vendors selling fresh fish, mullet eggs, and other goods. A common feature of this sector is the triangular roofs, mostly covered with tiles, front walls made of rock and cement, and white iron gates and railings. There are also fruit trees such as coconut palms, mango trees, and pomalaca trees, as well as ornamental trees like fisco and neem. The latter is used as an insect repellent, especially in areas where fresh fish is sold, as it repels flies and other insects that swarm around when they detect the presence of these marine species.
Many of the houses are two-story, as the upper floor is often rented out to visitors as an annex. These accommodations offer basic amenities to make a pleasant stay with beautiful panoramic views of the sea. Although it appears small when viewed from the highway, it is not. Its streets are long and feature a variety of structures in addition to the houses, such as the boardwalk (viewpoint), the church, the boulevard, and more, all perfect for watching the sunset and enchanting seascapes. It was a lovely experience exploring this charming and welcoming coastal town, wandering its streets and visiting key meeting points strategically located near the sea.
Seguidamente, avanzamos hacia la zona residencial, esta va desde la avenida principal hasta la zona costera, en este espacio se encuentran varias calles, las viviendas, establecimientos comerciales, venta de pescado fresco, huevos de Lisa entre otros; una característica común en este sector son los techos de forma triangular, en su mayoría cubiertos con tejas, paredes frontales hechas con roca y cemento, rejas y portones de hierro en color blanco, también la presencia de árboles frutales como cocoteros, mango, pomalaca y árboles ornamentales como los fiscos y Neem, este último se usa como repelente para los insectos sobre todo en las zonas donde se expende pescado fresco, ya que alejan a las moscas e insectos que merodean el lugar cuando detectan la presencia de estas especies marinas.
Varias viviendas son de dos plantas, debido a que en la mayoría de ellas se suele alquilar el piso superior, como una especie de anexo a los visitantes, estos cuentan con los servicios básicos para hacer de la estadía del visitante una experiencia agradable con hermosas panorámicas del mar, aunque parece un pueblo pequeño, cuando lo ves desde la carretera nacional, no es así sus calles son largas y poseen variadas estructuras además de las viviendas, como el malecón (mirador) , la iglesia, bulevar y más, que son perfectos para observar el atardecer y los encantadores paisajes marinos, fue una linda experiencia conocer parte de este lindo y acogedor pueblo costero recorriendo sus calles e importantes puntos de encuentro, ubicados estratégicamente en las cercanías del mar.

Even in the smallest villages, where everything seems the same or there’s nothing to catch the eye, there’s always a little detail that can surprise us, like this beautiful orchid.
I didn’t see this flower in person until I moved to Spain; I’d never been able to see it in the flesh, and here it’s very common. It’s my mum’s favourite flower, so she’s always happy to see it.
How lovely that you explore the different spots near where you live; it’s a way of discovering new things, and these walks bring us those little or big surprises. A big hug!💗

Definitivamente donde menos esperamos, se pueden encontrar hermosos tesoros, este pueblo destaca por sus lindas playas y hermosas vistas, a simple vista parece un pequeño pueblo pero al recorrer varias calles me di cuenta que no lo es.
Es la primera vez que veo esta flor, me encantó su color vibrante, los pétalos son suaves y me llamó la atención que tienen diferentes tamaños, visitar y explorar los pueblos es una linda experiencia, las cales y casas tienen increíbles historias por contar.

It's true that beautiful treasures can be found in the most unexpected places. This town stands out for its lovely beaches and stunning views. At first glance, it seems like a small town, but after walking through its streets, I realized it's not.
It's the first time I've seen this flower. I loved its vibrant color, the petals are soft, and I was intrigued by their different sizes. Visiting and exploring towns is a wonderful experience; the streets and houses have incredible stories to tell.
