Por lo general solemos ver polillas nocturnas cuando llega la noche.
Las polillas pueden llegar a nuestros hogares sin ningún problema.
Ellas se alimentan de algodón. Por ende, en casa consiguen uno de sus alimentos favoritos.
We usually see nocturnal moths when night falls.
Moths can reach our homes without any problem.
They feed on cotton. Therefore, at home they get one of their favorite foods.
Cuando veo polillas o mariposas en rincones buscando sol pienso que han eclosionado.
Esta pequeña estaba en muy tranquila en el suelo dandose un baño con diminutos rayos de sol.
En casa tengo otros animalitos asi que... tocó cambiar la polilla de lugar.
When I see moths or butterflies in corners looking for sun I think they have hatched.
This little one was very quietly on the floor bathing in tiny rays of sunshine.
At home I have other little animals so.... I had to move the moth to another place.
Es una polilla de gran tamaño, cuerpo robusto cubierto de pelos, ojos grandes, antenas cortas y blancas, de color gris con tonos negros y amarillento debajo de sus alas.
Parecia estar en señal de defensa. Cuando la tomé para ubicarla en otro lugar, no voló, se quedó quieta donde la dejé.
It is a large moth, robust body covered with hairs, large eyes, short white antennae, gray with black and yellowish tones under its wings.
It seemed to be on defense. When I picked it up to place it in another place, it did not fly, it stayed still where I left it.
Noté que estaba en situación de defensa porque sus alas se movía aceleradamente.
Nunca ví el movimiento de las alas de las polillas, ésta me impresionó.
Logré capturar sus movimientos en la fotografía para dejar evidencia de la particularidad del insecto.
I noticed that it was in a defensive situation because its wings were moving rapidly.
I had never seen the movement of moth wings, this one impressed me.
I managed to capture its movements in the photograph to leave evidence of the insect's particularity.
En pleno movimiento, la polilla dejó ver el color amarillo tostado debajo de sus alas.
Busqué información sobre el lepidóptera y se trata de una Esfinge Gigante, Cocytius antaeus.
En un abrir y cerrar de ojos, cuando apenas di una vuelta ya la polilla no estaba. Le agradezco la sesión fotográfica que me permitió hacer.
In full motion, the moth showed the tan yellow color under its wings.
I looked up information about the lepidopteran and it is a Giant Sphinx, Cocytius antaeus.
In the blink of an eye, when I barely turned around the moth was gone. I thank you for the photo session you allowed me to do.
En Otro Orden de Insecto...
Hallé al escarabajo joya cuando aterrizaba en un corto vuelo. No vi de dónde salió, solo vi cuando llegó repentinamente.
I found the jewel beetle as it was landing on a short flight. I didn't see where it came from, I only saw when it suddenly arrived.
Los coleópteros ganan siempre mi respeto. Su modo de vida y el aporte al ecosistema es valioso.
Todos los insectos juegan un papel fundamentel, todos merecen reconocimiento, ninguno es más fuerte que otro, en equipo hacen su trabajo.
Sin embargo, es un tema de experiencias quizá lo que me atrae de esta especie.
Coleoptera always gain my respect. Their way of life and contribution to the ecosystem is valuable.
All insects play a fundamental role, all deserve recognition, none is stronger than another, they do their work as a team.
However, it is perhaps a matter of experience that attracts me to this species.
