Shades Of Green And Yellow

Shades of Green and Yellow greeted me on a stroll through downtown San Carlos. There appears to be a program to hieve San Carlos out of its decaying facades. Many houses are freshly painted and offer a welcome contrast to the still large number of delapidated exteriors. With a high percentage of businesses having given up over the last four years and closed for good, decay is inevitable with places that receive no more rental income. More small businesses are to follow that path - rents are too high to enable even modest profitability among ever increasing prices for energy, food and items of daily needs.

A troublesome development that echoes around the globe. For now, the joy over freshly painted facades is offsetting the sorrows and worries that can be observed in the human equivalents - faces.
