No rest for the wicked. My Actifit Report Card: March 9 2026
After 3 nights of bad sleep this morning started quite slow. I'm off coffee in the mornings, trying to regulate my sleep cycle. Ironically, it's working great. If it wasn't for Lily. We had a very long talk yesterday while lying in her bed. It's noticeable that she's growing not only in body, but in mind and spirit. And it's a new form of communication to get used to. But I think I managed it well, and we talked for almost 45min. That's a long time for an almost 8 year old. Especially since it was about topics that rattled her. Things that her mom complains about, the school, Lily's teacher, and me, of course.

Now I think that that weird cold-hot-normal temperature sequence that she experienced the last nights was somewhat psychosomatic. Which is good. She still woke up with a little bit of a headache, but that went away quickly and after school she was full of energy. Did her homework very well, participated in her piano lesson with enthusiasm and is still not that tired. I brought her to bed, but there she is, rolling around. But it feels good to have been able to help her by listening.

My personal day started out with a good session at the gym. Nothing too hard as I was tired, but after the 10min warm up on the bike, I actually felt quite awake, so I did get a complete work out. I had already organized the flat when Lily was still asleep, so when the cleaning lady came, I was able to get out of her mop's way quickly and went to work.
The team meeting was great. There's some movement towards the positive again, with all of the team members being motivated not only to discuss the work stuff, but to share their personal problems. Me included. It's so much easier when everyone knows what the rest is dealing with. We can recognize it and be considerate, helping each other out. It's a great mini-community that we built there.

Today was also visiting day by the teacher. It's once a year. She came over, we talked quite a bit as she's very involved and tries to help Lily through the emotional stuff as much as she can. With all the children, actually. She's an amazing teacher, and I try to always be aware of her way of expressing and acting when she's around. So much to learn for me, too.
My brother hung out on my bed for a while, too. This vacation is hard on him, too much stress in Germany, so he regularly has to wake up at 2am or 4am to solve problems. At least he won't have much of a jetlag going back.
So far, so good. I honestly have no idea how I got to 10k steps today, it didn't seem that much. But there it is, and I'm happy about it. My posting streak continues. This is post number 20 in a row. Maybe a "streak counter" could be included into actifit? Like Duolingo has? That would be an extra motivation to share daily... But maybe with a minium word count. Not just 100 signs, but 250 words or something like that.
Anyway. Time to go to bed. Thank you for reading!
