Stolen moment

My camera has been stolen, my guy said with mock surprise as he walked out the back door into the entertaining area. There, he found me bent over the very same camera he referred to which sat securely on his tripod, I'd stolen that too, and which I was using to take some shots of the fuscias I'd just purchased.

I turned and tried to look apologetic, but I wasn't really; what's mine is mine and what's his is mine.

Of course, he wasn't upset at all, he's been encouraging me to use the camera and do some photography more and more and I've enjoyed it. I think he might be trying to get me really hooked with the intention of announcing he's getting a new camera and I can have his existing one, a situation I'd be happy with, when the budget permits.

In the interim I borrow his camera and on this occasion photographed my new fuscias prior to them going into the hanging pots they'll eventually live in.

I found these beautiful flowers a little difficult to photograph as they hang downwards so I got creative and propped them up on leaves to get better angles. I've only used a few here but took many, and many of them were terrible for one reason or the other.

They're a lovely flower though, I don't blame them for the bad photographs, and it's nice to see them pop open as they bloom. I bought several and when they're all in loom it'll transform the area into a beautifully coloured area.

When I was finished I packed away the camera being careful to do it exactly as I've been shown, more evidence that I can be trusted to look after my man's equipment and deserve my own, and we sat down for a cup of tea and a chat. I told him that I was excited to see how my shots turned out and I'm pleased to see a few did. They'll never be as good as the real thing, but it's a nice reward.

I took these images

These are lovely shots Becca. I've never had this flower in my garden or balcony, maybe in the future.

Also, I see you are not commenting much lately. I hope I can count on you to change that. You know engagement on Hive is key :)

I wish you a nice day.

Hi Erikah,

I appreciate your comment on my photos.

In respect of commenting, well, I am caring for my terminally ill mother who is on end-of-life chemotherapy and has 3-4 oncology, scan, and specialist appointments each week, terrible side effects and some rather embarrassing accidents each week, which I have to clean up. In between that, I have a job, my own health issues and that of my man who is currently working through some testing for a health issue himself. Of course, there's the every day life issues that everyone faces.

I post only when I can, use my own images, don't self vote with my VP or ecency like many others do.

So, thanks for the prompt to comment more, I do what I can when I can and will continue to do so. I understand the importance of engagement on Hive and have tried to spread myself out across all the areas I'm pushed and pulled, however there are limits to what I can manage.

I am here to write some things, an outlet and something different to let me escape my every day situation, now and then. I have begun to do some photography for that reason also. If I can't make it around to comment much on other people's posts I'm ok with that.

Hi Becca, I'm really sorry to hear about your mother's health situation. Unfortunately I know first hand, how difficult it is, especially this period. I wish you a lot of strength and patience, as both are much needed right now.

I really appreciate the effort on your behalf, also want to thank you for posting quality content, here in Photography Lovers as well. I'm always happy to see your posts and looking forward to your next one.

Have a nice day and take care Becca. 🤗🌷

Hey becca-mac, great snaps, well done, and well presented in your post as you always do.

In respect of the comment from @erikah, just do your own thing ok? You have been dealing with a pretty awful situation and I think you do a good job at presenting in a positive way here despite the obvious distress you're in. I recall some of your more heart-rending posts about your situation and I like how you don't play on it here, you just get on with things. I know you probably don't feel like posting in an upbeat way but you do it and I respect that which is why I support you.

I also use Hive as a sounding board sometimes, somewhere to be instead of within the more stressed moments of everyday life so I get it.

You mentioned that you don't self vote...I also notice that you power up and you respond to comments left for you, more than some other users do...so just keep doing what you can.

Also, steal that camera some more...you do a great job with it.

Thank you for your kindness @galenkp, and your support. It is a very difficult time and sometimes threatens to overwhelm me. I like coming here and writing, it feels like medicine at times.

I shall steal that camera again when the boy isn't looking and see what I can create.
