Hot and cold
I borrow my guy's camera and have a play sometimes; he doesn't mind and has even showed me a few settings like the on and off button, the button thing that takes the photos and how to get the lens cap off so all my photos aren't pitch black.
I'd been drawing, coloring in technically, in one of those intricate little coloring books for adults and had my pencils out still so I thought I'd see what I could capture with the camera at the same time. I've called this post hot and cold because red implies hot and blue...well I think you get the idea.
I did the image above to hint at the balance between the two opposing colors and, imagining them as hot and cold or fire and water, the balance that exists in nature. I guess I was trying to think creatively.
The image below looks just a little like a love heart to me and I like that. I was trying to capture the imperfections in the tips of the pencils but I think I did something wrong. I used a torch to light the tips but maybe I messed it up. The happy fact that it kind of resembles a love heart works though, for me it does anyway.
This last image I don't have a name for but I was thinking chaos or maybe detritus might work.
It's the shavings off the pencils from when I was sharpening them and I guess I like the contrast of red and blue, the way they mix together, and the abstract and haphazard way they have fallen.
I almost didn't post these into the photography community because they don't seem good enough but after thinking on it I decided that photography is still photography whether it is good or bad.
My favourite is the second one, it captures the tips excellently and then degrades, it creates a very good effect and as you say it looks like a heart, where half of it could be a man and the other half a woman... at least I see that, that's what art is like.
I love that you published these pictures.
Thanks Becca.💗
Thank you, it was a bit of fun really, I didn't think they'd come out very well. I pleased you liked them.

A big hug! 🤗
You did great @becca-mac! I agree, the second one does look like a love heart. My wife colors in adult books sometimes too. She says it relaxes her. She says I should try it, but Im afraid I might eat the crayons or pencils, LOL.
Hello Joe, and thank you for your lovely comment.
As for eating crayons...I had to get some clarification on why you might say that and my guy provided it. So, hopefully you have only ever eaten the tasty colors. 🙃
You should give coloring a try, I enjoy it and find it very relaxing.

LOL. I may just do that...when I'm hungry. :)
The hearth photo looks cool. Initially I thought it was just the tips, but then I noticed that the wood also formed the heart shape. Hearts come in different sizes as well; literally and figuratively. You can look at the red as your partner's heart, and the blue as yours.
I was trying something with that shot that just wasn't working out to plan but I think the photo is passable to share here. I'm not a photographer so I don't think anyone has a high expectation of my photos.

Keep up the good work. 👏
You are loved. 🤗 + u deserve the best. 💪
