Clearing out
I had a moment the other day, a cleaning moment, and decided I'd sort through my wardrobe to see what I may not need anymore. We all accumulate things over the course of our lives, they can easily mount up; out of sight out of mind. That creates a lack of space and an excess of things so occasionally I sort through and determine what I may be able to move on, donate to charity.
I found a few items of clothing which I decided were excess to my needs then started on my trinkets drawer...it was a bit of a mess to be honest; a jumble of things I've had for a long time and just haven't moved on. I decided to be totally brutal and find some I'd be happy to let go. It wasn't easy.
I'd never give any of my good jewellery away but I had a drawer (not a big one...ok, it is big) full of cheaper costume jewellery I've used to compliment outfits and accessorise and I managed to reduce it somewhat.
Most of it was purchased for a specific outfit, some of which I don't even have anymore, so I simply selected those, and others that have lapsed out of trend and put them in a box to take to the charity store. I was able to reduce the items by about a third which I thought was a good reduction over all.
I thought it might be a good idea to take a few photos of some of the things I decided to keep and you can see some of them here.
The items in that drawer were not expensive, cheap trinkets really, however I'd allowed them to build up to a point of ridiculousness; I knew I'd never wear most of it and figured someone else might be able to make use of the items. Those things have served me well, helped me create the specific looks I've wanted and I've had my use of them. I felt good about clearing some out and am happy to know that someone may be able to use them.

I was reviewing some publications, but I do it with my daughter, I was showing her this world of hive and thousands of stories that one can get here, she called her attention to the first image, we decided to open it, I had to translate for her, but even though I told her what you say, that your jewelry is a trinket, she told me that she likes your trinkets, especially the one you have as the first picture.
Hello there sir, thank you for dropping by to my post feed, I really appreciate it.
The first and second image is of the same item, a bracelet, and I have the matching necklace. I loved the turquoise coloring on it and it matched perfectly with an outfit I had and also loved. I try not to spend a lot of money on these things and am selective with what I buy so it's all mix-and-match but over the years it had built up. I guess because I don't buy things very often I tend to hold on to what I have. I rarely spend much money on them and only every buy things on sale.
I'm glad you liked my post and your daughter too, I may do some more of these photos from time to time.
Have a nice day.

for me I always take a long while before checking all my stuff and giving them
Yes, I think that's the best way to proceed.
All the best.

Do you know what the vacuum principle is? It says that emptiness doesn't exist, so in order for new things to come, you have to get rid of old things.
That reminded me of what I just read.
I love the first piece of jewellery! I would have kept it too, and the photographs are beautiful. I also like the last one.
You know, my mum makes jewellery, and most of the things I have she made for me, I choose the materials and she makes them.
I loved it, thanks Becca!❤️
I try to avoid the vacuum (cleaning). Lol.
My partner and I work towards that exact thing, certainly when it comes to non-essential items. Of course, it doesn't always work that way. I always look to ensure that the clothing or accessories I buy are ones I can wear in multiple ways so that I get more use from them. It saves money and space.
I haven't really got the time for much of a hobby which is why I'm not on Hive very much, however I'd like to make some of my own accessories some day. I am quite creative, like to draw and paint also, but I just don't have the time after all the things my life entails. It's nice that your mother makes jewellery though, and that you get to choose the things she makes them from.
Have a nice weekend.

It would be nice to see some of the things you paint or some of the jewellery you make. If time is sometimes scarce, you will find time to enjoy what you like to do.
I look forward to seeing your creations.
Have a great weekend.
Thank you Becca.❤️
