Recientemente, visité la exposición “Tránsitos” que expone en la sala TAC del Trasnocho Cultural el artista plástico venezolano Richard López (Villa de Cura, Guárico, 1975). En el hermoso montaje se entretejen el paisaje natural y el paisaje urbano en un grato diálogo. Las pinturas de una amplia gama de colores y formatos reciben al visitante en trazos llenos de luz y movimiento, que recuerdan a los grandes artistas del movimiento Impresionista del siglo XIX, Monet, Manet, Renoir, Degas, Gauguin, Cezane. No es la realidad mimética lo que quiere representarse, es la realidad tal como es percibida, con sus colores, movimientos, luces y sombras, la realidad vista por el alma de quien la ve.

El deambular por la ciudad, “en un estado de alerta-percepción”, le ha permitido al artista, según se expresa en el texto de sala de Yuri LIscano: “apreciar los múltiples elementos que la conforman y cómo incide la luz sobre ellos”. López recrea, reinterpreta los espacios de la ciudad con elementos pictóricos que los transforman en luz, perspectiva, forma, color, dejan de ser lugares, espacios concretos, para transformarse en memoria, para configurar un imaginario pictórico, plástico, estético.

La exposición está conformada por más de 60 piezas, que revelan un registro recurrente de edificios, esculturas urbanas, letreros publicitarios, calles, escaleras y sótanos, en fin, un inventario, un imaginario de paisajes en los que se unen árboles, pequeñas hojas, lagos, pero también letreros, vallas, sótanos, se muestran al unísono al ojo que ve y luego recuerda al pintar.

Recently, I visited the exhibition "Tránsitos" (Transits), which is on display at the Trasnocho Cultural's TAC hall by Venezuelan artist Richard López (Villa de Cura, Guárico, 1975). In this beautiful montage, the natural landscape and the urban landscape are interwoven in a pleasant dialogue. The paintings of a wide range of colors and formats receive the visitor in strokes full of light and movement, reminiscent of the great artists of the Impressionist movement of the nineteenth century, Monet, Manet, Renoir, Degas, Gauguin, Cezane. It is not the mimetic reality that is to be represented, it is the reality as it is perceived, with its colors, movements, lights and shadows, the reality seen by the soul of the one who sees it.

Wandering through the city, "in a state of alert-perception", has allowed the artist, as expressed in Yuri LIscano's gallery text: "to appreciate the multiple elements that make up the city and how light affects them". López recreates, reinterprets the spaces of the city with pictorial elements that transform them into light, perspective, form, color, they cease to be places, concrete spaces, to become memory, to configure a pictorial, plastic, aesthetic imaginary.

The exhibition is made up of more than 60 pieces, which reveal a recurring register of buildings, urban sculptures, advertising signs, streets, stairs and basements, in short, an inventory, an imaginary of landscapes in which trees, small leaves, lakes, but also signs, fences, basements, are shown in unison to the eye that sees and then remembers when painting.
