Embracing the Tranquil Beauty of a Cold Morning

IMG_E0936.JPG

A Morning Walk To The Lake ..

As the alarm clock rudely interrupted my peaceful slumber .. I couldn't help but feel a surge of reluctance to leave the warmth of my cozy bed. The air was cold, biting at my exposed skin as I reluctantly pulled on layers of clothing, each piece a barrier against the chilly embrace of the early morning. Despite my initial hesitations, a sense of adventure overcame me as I decided to embark on seldom enjoyed ritual .. A morning walk to the lake.

Stepping outside, I was greeted by the crisp air of a winter morning .. The kind that makes you shiver involuntarily. The morning sun, still in its infancy, was bravely peeking over the frozen horizon, casting a gentle glow across the landscape. Everything in sight seemed to wear a delicate layer of morning frost, a testament to the chill that had settled overnight.

As I began my journey towards the lake .. My surroundings transformed into a winter wonderland. Each blade of grass, every twig, and the branches of trees .. all adorned with a thin layer of icy crystals. Nature, in its quiet beauty, had painted a serene picture for those willing to venture out into the early hours.

Anticipation brewed within me with every step .. Fueled by the expectation of witnessing the harmonious dance between the morning light and the calm waters of the lake. The hues of orange and pink, like a promise whispered by the dawn, fueled my imagination. The mere thought of this spectacle added an extra bounce to my step as I treaded the familiar path.

Approaching the culmination of my journey .. The edge of the lake .. I couldn't help but marvel at the scene unfolding before me. The stark silhouette of leafless trees stood in stark contrast against the canvas of the early morning sky. Shades of blue, purple, orange, and pink seamlessly blended, creating a breathtaking panorama that seemed to freeze time itself. The lake, a serene mirror, reflected the celestial masterpiece above, amplifying the enchantment.

The morning was not just cold .. It was a silent symphony of nature's elements harmonizing in a breathtaking display. The tranquility that enveloped the surroundings added an ethereal touch to the beauty that unfolded before my eyes. The world seemed to pause, allowing me to soak in the magic of the moment .. A moment frozen in time, like the frost-kissed landscape that cradled the lake.

IMG_E0929.JPG

As I stood there, engulfed in the quiet magnificence of the cold morning .. I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the simple joys that nature generously offers. In the hushed stillness of the winter morning, I found solace—a reminder that beauty, often, resides in the unassuming moments, waiting to be discovered by those willing to venture into the cold embrace of the dawn.

In Hurting Hearts

Poem by BDMiller

By the crystal blue lake, in summer's embrace,
Molly and Pepper, a memory we trace.
Two loyal hearts, a duo so dear,
Pose in the sun, without a trace of fear.

Under the azure sky, their joy unfurls,
Tails wagging, reflecting the joy of two worlds.
Glistening waters, a mirror so true,
Capturing moments, as memories accrue.

Now, they've journeyed beyond the sun's last gleam,
Yet, in our hearts, they continue to dream.
Their presence lingers, a bittersweet art,
In hurting hearts, forever a part.

A truly amazing sunrise view. Starting the day with a view like this will instantly make the mind feel better and the whole day will be better. I like these scenes very much. You have taken beautiful photography.

Beautiful shots! I always forget just how quiet it can get in the Winter. Especially after the snow falls and the neighbors get done running their snow blowers! We have an expressway a short distance from our house and even then it becomes more muffled and peaceful.

It is usually pretty quiet back there by the water, except for the geese and ducks. They can be extremely loud at times. Also there is a busy road not far off that is loud during morning and evening commutes. So I know what your saying about road noise and getting used to hearing it. Funny what our minds will drown out after a while of living with it.

Did you get much snow out of this last storm? We got a ton of rain and a few flurries.. LOTs of wind. It was 65 here yesterday afternoon before the front pushed through.

We pretty much got no snow. It was just a big tease. We lost power for most of the day on Saturday due to the winds. About half the town next to us where my parents live lost power as well. We got ours back quicker than they did, but we both have generators, so it wasn't too bad. Plus as you said the temps weren't too low, so that helped.

Oh good. The way they were talking you guys were going to be snowed in for days and days. lol. I have a generator too. Generac. It can run a few appliances and a bunch of 115v things and what not. Nothing too special. We always think about one of those while house generators, but then look at the cost and think "No". 😆

I never looked really closely before, but I think my house has a back feed to the panel in the garage. I'm going to try that next time we need it to see if that would be easier than running cords through the house. That's the way my dad has his set up. I like the idea of the whole home ones tying into your natural gas, so it's pretty much hands off.

I don't know enough about electricity to attempt doing anything myself. I know the basics but also know my limitations. Nothing like laying in bed thinking whether or not I hooked up those wires correctly 😆 I'll leave it to the experts.

Hey! Long time no see.. Hope all is well with you.
Sure.. I'll check it out and pass along the word to anyone I can think of who may be interested. Sounds very thought provoking. First book that came to my mind was Schindler's List by Thomas Keneally. That one will change you.
I need to swing over to your blog to see what you've been up to 😊

Oh a lovely book! I would definetely enjoy hearing your opinion on it! I was also glad to stop by and see that you are okay as well and reach out for some help.

It is a thought provoking contest as I am mostly fascinated by the human mind I love to pick on someone's brain hahahaha, especially if it is a very bookish one😁😅

We are blessed to have the view we have from our property. Maybe not the absolute best in the world, but awesome nonetheless 😍
