As The Fiery Sun Sets Tonight

In the hushed symphony of winter ..

I briskly walked towards the canvas of nature painted across my backyard lake. The fiery sun, an artist's palette of orange and yellow, cast its radiant glow upon the canvas of clouds, weaving a tapestry with the passing snow shower. Delicate wisps of snow pirouetted in the distance, leaving ephemeral trails that whispered tales of the fleeting moment. The trees on the opposite shore stood as solemn sentinels, their silhouettes etched in black against the dying embers of the day. The foreground unveiled a naked oak, its branches reaching for the sky, adorned only by memories of the leaves it once cradled. As the sun bid adieu, a chill embraced the air, a harbinger of the impending winter night. The wind, a northern serenade, whispered promises of frost-kissed dreams.

In The Beauty Of Endings

Poem By BDMiller

In the hush of twilight's tender sigh,
A canvas painted in hues of amber and gold,
The sun descends, a storyteller in the sky,
Weaving tales of the day, in whispers bold.

The horizon ablaze with a fiery embrace,
A farewell kiss, a dance of light,
A sunset so pretty, in orange and grace,
Fading warmth that ushers in the night.

The leaves, like dancers, in crisp descent,
Whirling and twirling in the autumn air,
A brisk wind whispers, a chill's intent,
As fall surrenders to winter's affair.

The day retires, wrapped in hues so warm,
A blanket of memories, a serene surrender,
In the stillness, the whispers of the storm,
A symphony of seasons, a moment to remember.

So, as daylight dims, and shadows play,
Under the quilt of the sky, in colors so tender,
Embrace the chill that hints at winter's sway,
In the beauty of endings, find the sweetest splendor.

Quiet fur curled tight,
Dreams dance in the dog's soft sleep,
Peaceful slumber's hush.

Beautiful words and photos. We have had some really nice sunrises lately, but I haven't captured any of them with my camera yet.

Wellll... What are you waiting for?! lol.
When the air is thinner around here (winter = no humidity), the sunsets and rises are so nice. I am rarely outdoors or able to be, with work hours, so I tend to miss them.

Yeah, I am usually in my office which has a west facing window and I miss the sunrises over the bay to the east.

We've gotten lots of snow the past 24 hours! We had no hint of winter's sway, it slammed in on us with a vengeance. I haven't even pulled up the last of my beets and onions, now frozen in the ground.

Enough about me, I love your poems. That short one is lovely, Molly is a welcome sight on this snowy night.

SNOW!!!! Ugggg... Do you live in the great lakes area? I can't remember. I like beats with a little butter and salt. yummy.

I will miss Molly this winter when the nights are cold, but will not miss shoveling her an area to pee and poop in. lol.

One winter I had suddenly blind dog. She'd pretty much spent all day outside before she lost her sight. That winter, I shoveled paths in the deep snow so that she could easily navigate, by herself, outside my house. You just reminded me of her, my Solimar. She was a fabulous creature. I miss her.

I live south of Buffalo and Rochester, almost on the border of Pennsylvania. This was a freakily early snow though, and deep enough for the plow guy to come. So cold!!!
